FTC_Snowy Posted November 27, 2019 Posted November 27, 2019 Some very welcome improvements, thank you devs!
Guest deleted@134347 Posted November 27, 2019 Posted November 27, 2019 I'm definitely enjoying the spotting improvements in VR. I hope it's not just a 'feeling... ?
Blitzen Posted November 27, 2019 Posted November 27, 2019 After this update I have the best clarity ever using Pimax5K VR...The improvement is pretty amazing! The downside is that at least so far after a very long install, most of the missions I have “flown” have actually taken longer to start than they did before the upgrade...This may just be the initial times the new upgrade works with my PC. ( I like the new Russia’s Self propelled gun but haven’t figured out how to fire the main gun...it doesn’t seem to respond to the same keystroke that the canons of the other usable tanks will fire with...It doesn’t matter all that much since I probably won’t be using it all that much while I wait patiently for the wonderful Panther!)
Bungmiester Posted November 27, 2019 Posted November 27, 2019 (edited) Just had 4 of flights against the AI in Flying circus against a DR1 trying out the new update the AI still kamikazes into the ground for no apparent reason when fighting against you. I thought this had been fixed in this last update? Sorry if this is in the wrong section. Edited November 27, 2019 by Bungmiester 1
[DBS]El_Marta Posted November 27, 2019 Posted November 27, 2019 (edited) I tried the Ju 87 and the Ju 88. LCtl + D starts the dive and the recovering. As I understood it it should switch the whole system on or off. What is the purpose of this redundant LCtl + D command? I do not always want to recover from the dive as soon as my first bomb is dropped. Apart from that I hope this is a step forward to the implementation of the StuVi for the 88 and the 87. Jade_Monkey Posted November 27, 2019 Posted November 27, 2019 The Static Fw190 D9 is giving an error when included in a mission in the ME.

I tried to find the historical picture I've seen showing this but came up blank. I know I've seen one before, I remember commenting on how odd it looked.

New dive procedure to work around this: 88: Set trim for dive. Open dive brakes. Immediately turn off auto system (trim reverts to your dive trim) Drop bombs as required (no auto pull out) 87: Set trim for dive Open dive brakes Drop bombs. Auto system will activate, but will revert to your trim. When dropping all the bombs in one go and using auto recover: Trim beforehand for the recovery pullout. Edited November 27, 2019 by Plurp
NETSCAPE Posted November 27, 2019 Posted November 27, 2019 (edited) I hope the dive recover system for the Ju 87 is optional because I won't fly it if I'm forced to use it. Despite everyone crying for this feature to be implemented because it's "historically accurate" is actually not true... well, not this late in the war at least. I gave examples of dive bombing and why they disabled dive recovery systems in this thread: https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/39526-stuka-dive-bombing/ In short, Helmut Mahlke: "And what did we think of the automatic recovery system that was now being installed in production Ju 87's? Not a lot, was the short answer to that. It was useless on operations, as it couldn't be manually overridden. We didn't want it, didn't need it, and had it disconnected on all our new machines the moment they were delivered. Once the enemy's Flak gunners cottoned on to the fact that everyone of us was recovering and climbing away at exactly the same height and at exactly the same angle they would have had an absolute field day. During this most vulnerable phase of our attack we needed full tactical freedom of movement, which is why we preferred to fly by hand. This enabled us to twist and turn in all directions and thus ave us a much better chance of being bale to dodge whatever Flak was being thrown at us " Edited November 27, 2019 by NETSCAPE 4
DN308 Posted November 27, 2019 Posted November 27, 2019 Thanks for the improvements, but I noticed in career mode that there is no snow even during the "no fly" period due to heavy snow I that normal?
Tonester Posted November 28, 2019 Posted November 28, 2019 You would have to have rocks in your head if you complained that you don’t get value for money out of the Devs...they are constantly trying to improve the product and hats off to them for that. And that’s just the improvements and not the addition of new content!. Love your work guys....yes she is a marginally flawed beast in some ways however we are still very lucky to have her as I imagine there isn’t a whole lot of money in WW2 flight sims these days...and damn she sure is pretty to look at 2 2

dburne Posted December 5, 2019 Posted December 5, 2019 Not sure which exact version it was added, but thank you so much 1CGS for adding a manual IPD adjustment for VR. I always thought my Spit was a bit small on the scale, have adjusted it now and it is much better.

A workaround added for VR HMDs without hardware IPD adjustment - LShift-NumPad+ and LShift-NumpadEnter directly move the images on the VR screen farther or closer." Does it work for you both in Open Composite and SteamVR? I remember trying it once, but with no effect Edited December 5, 2019 by Nibbio

Does it work for you both in Open Composite and SteamVR? Working for me fine with Open Composite. I do not use Steam VR, but would think it certainly would. 1
Ribbon Posted December 5, 2019 Posted December 5, 2019 Found AI bug in career mission! Played first p51 mission in career, escorting A20 bombers. We had few enemy waves on the way to the target, got them all but than problem appeared, bombers just flew over the target and continue flight in a straight line toward the end of the map. Fighter cover following and crash landing when run out of fuel. Mission failed!

Arsenal53 Posted December 7, 2019 Posted December 7, 2019 (edited) Since this last update it is very dificult to turn on the right (on ground) with the FW 190(especially A8), it's needed a long pressure on the right brake and full right rudder before the plane start a light turn while only a light pressure on the left brake drives immediately a sharp turn on the left Edited December 8, 2019 by Arsenal53
dburne Posted December 8, 2019 Posted December 8, 2019 Very much enjoying flying a PWCG Campaign over Bodenplatte for the first time. Loving the new engine sounds in the Spit Mk IX !!
vlad_8011 Posted December 12, 2019 Posted December 12, 2019 (edited) Did anyone played TC Soviet Campaign? Anyone finished SECOND mission "Counterattack"? It looks like mission never ends. Edited December 12, 2019 by vlad_8011
