For real though....you guys need to stand up a Escadrille

The problem is the planeset : there is only one French plane...we need at least a two seater and a rotary to be able to fly "French" as other country.

Hello all,

For your information, we plan to be on the FC JG5 server this Thursday around 9PM (Paris time).

We may be beween 10 to 15 pilots, all French (sorry :P), from C6, IRRE and OBT squads.

If you join us, we will be pleased to be used as flying target for you (or the opposite ?)

So the Euro window is expected to be busier too.

EU time: 8PM - 12AM GMT

US time: 8PM - 12AM Eastern Daylight Time

Stats server is here http://stats.jasta5.org:8000/en/

Jasta5 have kindly provided some comms channels on their discord, free for use by all.  Flugpark Discord: https://discord.gg/h8MRmyN

The 3rd PG will have some pilots flying earlier this week, and our live-stream should be up earlier too  7:00pm Eastern  (if i can get out of bed) https://www.youtube.com/user/PaulLMF

See you there!

IMHO that one French plane is all you need :)

As hoped, we saw a lot of people flying over an extended 8-10 hour period, including lots of new names too. Hope you guys had fun and will join us in MP again soon.

3rd PG had 5 up and also managed to tempt Chill31 away from his Dr1 and into a Spad for a while, as a DVa pilot found to his cost.

Even with 5-6 of us, we were often outnumbered. The skies NW of Cappy were crazy with D7s at one point.

Shout out to the brave JG1 pilot who lost his D7 wingman to a disco but pressed on with his attack. He then gave Parsons and I a tricky fight and even with his engine out he fought his way from 2500m mid-mud to low behind the German trenches. Unfortunately for him our 3PG claiming system means that unless he bailed, we would lose the victory, so his brave escape attempt could only end one way.

Talbot also streamed live this week, and that means we could capture close up, all the engagements this week.

Along with Wolfpack's, it means 3 entente streams - pretty good coverage! Would be cool if some Central pilots can get their side done as well.

Anyway, here's ours. Timestamps in YouTube description.

I’ll chime in (not a stream). This one is taken from the Central side. It was a great furball over Bapaume, yesterday, during the dusk mission (European time).

Read the video description to get the inside scoop!

Hey Everyone.

We're on the JASTA 5 FLUGPARK server again this Thursday April 2nd.

There is some discussion about starting to mix it up again from next week. Trying to get some variation into the MP maps with earlier 1918, late-1917 scenarios or other ways to create variation. Anyway more on that later.

We'll I think it's fair to say the Entente side got smashed this week. Central had good numbers but were really organised too and easily won the 2 maps during US time zone. Congrats to them.

The 2 seater guys were flying in small groups often with an escort, taking out multiple targets per trip in the backfield. Even with area alerts in the map, is often very needle/haystack.

Good to see how the War Stress mechanics on the maps played out too. It became very difficult flying from back fields and not being able to use NML as a front line.

The mud was patrolled by multiple flights of very high fighters which made control of this air space difficult.

At one point 3 of us were tracking a high solo Alb hoping to draw him down where we could 3v1 him. Unfortunately I lost him at a critical moment and he got a bit close for comfort, but Parsons was on him in a flash and was lining him up when suddenly a shout came that a D7 had 'materialised' behind Parsons!

It was a well-timed attack by the Alb but track files show the D7 was invisible till that point.

It's great to see organised tactics combined with large numbers of pilots. No doubt we'll post-mortem and think about how to counter these tactics better!

Stream replay is here. Time-stamps done.

Well with the new DM, this week's session should be interesting!

Bring your chutes if you have them, the rest of you be prepared to run home if you get a hole in a Wing.

We'll be on JASTA 5 FLUGPARK server again.

Yesterday it was my first time in your server. It was amazing: a lot of player and a lot of aces in the sky. I have been hit from long distance by a Spad 13 during its dive...

Really really glad to join in your community.

See you soon!

Glad you had fun. SPADs do that, hopefully :)

Rather short session for me as damage to Asia Pacific Cable Network 2 (APCN2) meant i had a crap connection and kept getting kicked from the server. It stopped my livestream too, which was just starting to get quite funny in chat.

By the time i got back in Entente forces had lost most of its forward bases (again) while our fighters were being distracted by high Albs and D7s. This will NOT happen next week!

We did better at finding the 2seater incursions on the next map but it got late and all that.

During the evening US93_Larner managed to rack up a 70th kill in his current VLife which should entitle him to a big gong of some sort. It's very easy to die out there and staying alive and successful that long is a massive achievement.

Talbot did manage to stream. So his view of the shenanigans is here

Yes, it was you Simpel (you can see the log/stats here : http://stats.jasta5.org:8000/fr/sortie/log/48745/?tour=11)

But we were outnumbering them ;) ("We are 9, they are 5, what do we fear? Let's go!") Very fun night, intense dogfights, especially on the previous mission, with us flying Camels and Se5s on a Brisfit escort, we suffered but the Biffs made it home! S!

Congratz Larner. Well done!

You won the fight but unfortunately for Entente, Central won the battle!  The Good Guys triumph again.

Have to admit I also don't really feel that excited about FC right now. It's temporary, but I guess a lot of us feeling the same.

Last night we were missing quite a few squads. Was it cos of Easter or the DM and invisible planes?

Our lot got split, most pulled up high the rest searching for needles in a bloody big haystack.

Until a few weeks back we had quite a few flights meeting at various altitudes plus the low 2 seaters. Great numbers and good fights.

Now, it does seem hard to find targets on both sides despite having 25-40 online.

Not a fan of huge furballs at zero feet. There's other nights and servers for that. Like seeing mission-based tactics work.

The Central guys have organised their ground attack really well and I was hoping Entente could respond both defensively and offensively.

How about map change?

@JG1_Butzzell had some different scenarios that might help freshen things up? Is your server still operational Butzzell?

We could do an extra RoF night on Wargrounds too next week? Perhaps Wednesday evening?

Butzzell was kind enough to share his files to be put.on the Flugpark  this week but with the updates we didn't have time to work them into the rotation.   Hope to be able to do that this week.

That's great to hear. Leave it to you guys to sort out what might work well. We had fun with Not Metz and Not Bruay a little while back, and as i think Hunter has mentioned, we're hoping for some maps that vary the scenario away from mid-late 1918. Late 1917, early 1918 or even mid 1917 could all work.

Well, good news bad news.

Good news:  I spent about 20 hours testing the maps to find bugs. Whatever bug may be left has not been found yet.

Bad news:  The machine guns are a bit over done in FC. I removed the MGs and placed 2 FLAK trucks at each target.  They were reasonably dangerous. The last update improved the aim of the guns. We will have to see if they are too dangerous.  They are much better at pointing to intruding planes.

They get CLOOOOOSE. If you don't maneuver they are VERY close. Simple maneuvering throw em off a bit.
