@onlyforbrianCansyman Moose is almost ready!

Lining up a second image of the moose antlers on the nose canopy with the antlers on the side canopy took A considerable amount of time!

Just have the gear door numbers to add and I am done when I get back from work.

I apologize in advance if I mistakenly use this thread to share my first skins but it seemed silly to open yet another thread on the P-51 since this already exists. I'm not a skinner, this title is already reserved for other more prolific and decidedly more technically gifted. I simply had some fun with photoshop and the splendid ICDP templates which I sincerely thank for the great work shared with the whole community. I wanted to make two Mustangs in ETO, 1945 which so far I have not seen replicated on this forum.

I hope you like them!

Cheers

Baloney. No one has a say who does or doesn't post in this thread. We ALL started somewhere. There are truly some gifted skinners here. But there are a lot of us who just enjoy doing that plane we've always admired. Do not think you don't belong here or that anyone else has a right to tell you so.

Your skins look good. Keep up the good work.

Hey guys, I now this thread is several months old now but I've just begun flying IL-2 and having done several personal skins for DCS World I wanted  to make my own for this sim as well. I have done lots of research lately and I have learned that the two letter codes on fuselage on P-51s indicated the fighter squadron. I have also learned that the single letter code identifies the aircraft. What I can't seem to find anywhere, or maybe I'm not wording the question right, is how they determined what letter to use for any specific plane. For example, Moonbeam McSwine has a 'W' on the tail but not the fuselage.  Also, why are some P-51s using that code on the fuselage and the tail and some only on one or the other?
