If this is working that would be great ?

Why?  Do you have any problem?

Hoho not to quick master of the music, let me first try it.

But this is the mod I was looking for.

I don't know if it works with the Steam version actually. My steam account has always had strange problems with 1CGame softwares

I will try it this weekend.

It works fine with the Steam version. :good:

It's not compatible with other main.fsb mods though, of course.

Outstanding, it works perfectly!  Really clever.  :good:

I couldn't resist downloading the Sacred War march, converting it to .wav and using it for the Russian music.  Stirring stuff!

Well... ? .. I noted the italian subtitles ... ? ... Are you from Ukraine?  ... No?  ... Chechnya? ?

À chaqun a ses propres goûts!

I'm happy you like my job    ?

Hello there, that's the original main.fsb  (<----------- version: 3.012)   for people that have made a mess with the last update and now can not hear anything.

https://megaupload.nz/L0odyeT3m4/main_rar

... ok, I'm one of them!  ?

1. Before every update, remind of deactivating the previous 'Intro_XXX' Mod with JSGME.exe (actually you should deactivate every mod)
2. Then Update the game
3. Finally (just after the update), create another 'Intro_XXX' Mod with the new main.fsb and reactivate it with JSGME.exe

Simple and Boring.
Good Luck!

I've uploaded a new tool about main.fsb sounds.  You can find it here:

The tool is fantastic, I've been playing around with it and works very well.

The only problem i have with sound mods is that the game does not use the WAV samples "as is", there sounds in game are transformed (im assuming using fmod) and the final effect is very hard to predict.

I added some nice engine sounds for the Spitfire flyby but in-game they sound nothing like the samples. Is there any way to tweak how the game transforms these sonds?

That's the procedure:
1. download a free version of FMod Studio .... mmm... here for example: https://www.filecluster.com/downloads/FMOD-Studio.html
2. become an expert studying night and day their huge online tutors, like this one: https://www.fmod.com/resources/documentation-studio?version=2.0&page=welcome-to-fmod-studio.html)
3. discover that 1CGame is too jealous for allowing similar modifications of "its own" videogame.
4. admit the loss of too much life time for nothing.

5. Best wishes!

Ok, i was afraid that would be the answer.

Thanks for replying anyways!

I'll have to do more trial and error and see what comes out. There is still hope even if we have to go with the rules they set in fmod in the game.

Sorry, I'm not an expert of FMod Studio. When I wrote this tool, my real target was the possibility to change their boring intro music with something more exciting and politically incorrect.

Just to make angry some People's Commissars.

                             ?

What's more, I think every plane should have its own sound folder, like the skins.  Otherwise, we risk making a mess.... the same wav for different airplanes is not a wise solution.

My tip is changing tones and volume by using Audacity.exe or trying the same thing with FMOD. In this case,  you could recreate main.fsb inside there.

You have to study FMod however, and that's not easy.

I downloaded tiger 33 flyby sounds for the il21946 and put a few samples into a soundboard. I mapped the flyby sound file i wanted, example, i-16 to the same flyby key in game, f3 and voila. Under normal flight speed the tiger flyby matched the flyby sequense perfectly. If it didnt i could run it through audacity and alter the length. Wow, just darn wow. This is what I have been missing with Bos. Im in heaven right now ))

@EffeDB

In the audio file, audio_hi, med and low are no longer there. So I took the files from an earlier version to see if I could get this to work but no luck. I wonder if these have been removed so there is no sound modding? I was just trying to change the intro music. Do you know anything about this?

Please, try the following links and write me if they don't work anymore:

Well, I have the 4.005d version and the mod works well (Audio_hi folder is present).

There's a new update now: I'll download it after making the backup of the previous one...you never know!

Even though I'm afraid future problems because of the chinese market:

if they really want to sell their product over there ...big restrictions are foreseeable.

Anyway the link for the intro marches is the following.  Indeed they were only in the first version of this mod.

Think the youtube link is obsolete, you need this https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Bs8d6WpY0lA
