Nice skin and video, how many takes did you do before you nailed that landing?

I've got to go check the skin down loader now.

Saigon is a city in Vietnam, now officially known as Ho Chi Minh City. From what I can find, Vietnam has had many names, but Saigon isn’t one.

Vietnam was then a part of a greater country than today, called Indochine (Indochina). Indochina has three country in one, with the kingdoms of Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos.

Saïgon was a major city at that time of the south kingdom of Vietnam.

The capital city of Indochina was Hanoï

Yep, I was VERY rushed when I wrote that and it's been a HELLuva hectic few days right here. I'm more than aware of the names and such... I have a friend who spends a LOT of time over there so I should!! Thanks for pointing it out though and to DN308 for the brief history!

One of our most prized possessions is this, it HAS been drunk from over the years and is ceremoniously topped-up and re-sealed!! The bottle is/was a saline drip bottle from days gone by. Unpleasant but true!!

It's two Geckos, together with various items such as ginseng and spices in some sort of clear alcohol. It's since been topped up with various others and god knows what it was originally (although there's still quite a bit in there!). As I type, I've had it for, ooh, 30 years? It came from the uber-resourceful people of some remote part of what was the Ho Chi Minh trail and was bought by one of my closest friends Shaun, together with a 'cobbled-up' Zippo lighter made up of part original (found in the jungle) and part hammered together parts. Over the years we've gone into the bottle and sipped from it (not gulped!!) at various times (such as children reaching drinking-age and such!!) and then topped it up (with vodka, tequila etc.) and re-sealed it. I tell you what, our kids KNOW what drinking is all about after that AND they've never forgotten!!! ;)

Anyway, that's a potted history. I hope that clears it up?

Oh, and here's the Zippo. The only piece that's definitely original is the actual base of the lighter, everything else was made by someone else in a tiny village in unbearable humidity and with admirable resourcefulness!!

I've only flown the thing about 3 times and that was my first landing!! I might not be very good at a lot of things in this game but I AM good at landing the things, which is (apparently) a good thing!!

When I was stationed in Japan, there was a bar right off base that had a snake in a jar of something. The owner told me it was 30+ years old and he would keep filling it with whatever. was not to bad , I had several shots from the jar. But you had to be nice to the bar tender or else she would bump the snake while dipping your shot, resulting in scales with your shot.

Hmmm... provide you with the psd that I've spent hours customising to my specs? ?

Why not ask me to 'apply the changes' otherwise I might just as well give out my psd files for all the planes to everyone?

Not wishing (or intending) to sound 'above' or 'precious' but I'd be very reluctant to share any of my .psd's as I put a LOT of work into them.
As I say, I'd be happy to do it for you though. That's fair isn't it?

PM me and we can see what's to be done? I'd rather not discuss it 'in public'...

:)

Really...?  It's been a long time for me to ask you for a skin... and today of all days, I pop back on the forums.  So you up for doing a P-38?   In my favorite skin?   It's been a while so you may not remember.

Also.... I wouldn't mind it one every other plane as well.... If you really, REALLY, want to burn some time.  ?

I believe you have only done two at this particular juncture, P-51, and P-47D-28 both in metal finish..... I just wanted a touch up on the wings.... remember....

You sure you didn't take a few amps while fiddlin with them wires?..............  Lines, brother, lines... I have the one you made for the other said person in the PM.... so I can practice with those.... So I'm willing to wait, and let you make some of our fellow fly boys and girls nice pretty paint schemes for their favorite ride....... But don't make me have to tell the Missus to put the aforementioned skins upgrade/touch-up on your honey do list....... heheheheheheeeeeeeeeeeeee

Cheers brother

Stay insulated..... wear yer rubbers......

This model has adjustable outlet-cowlings and - so it seems to me -  outerwing MG FFM's  (shorter barrel).

That would bring us to an A5 if I haven't messed up.

A quick run through my books from Osprey Publishing and Christer Bergström didn't brought a match - so no Information about exact timeframe or Pilot?‍♂️

PS: The coat of arms on the engine and the white numbers indicate a plane from the 1./54 ("1.Staffel/Jagdgeschwader 54")

Hi Raptor,

All I could find was a poor profile compared to the model picture. It seems to be a model built and painted by Oliver Peissl a French

modeller but couldn't find this model again. As you can see no mention of pilot name.
