Now all we need to do is paint some MiG-24's like a Ki-61 and we can do some SEAC work over the water.

Posted

what we also need is some Hurricanes and Mosquitoes ...

Still a WIP. Creating the custom weathering and signage degradation is pretty slow going.

I'd do that if it was 2010.

The profiles provided by which many of these liveries are made and rendered are based upon the schemes done after the war by historians. They don't take into consideration that these aircraft sat at expeditionary airfields, through differing seasons, environments, terrain etc. They're not clean, the paint chips away and degrades, especially when you transition from winter to spring or vise versa.

I agree DetCord12B, looking at the photo below you can clearly see the weathered appearance along the lines of what you are trying to achieve. This skin is the Ducks guts.:clapping:

Here is a little sneak peak on the finished Ole Cock III. I know someone already made one. So, I don't mean to step on any toes. I really liked the skin so I decided to give it a go myself. I am still working on other ships from the 56thFG.

Hey Folks

I updated the Hun Hunter and the Wicked Wabbit to include the Yellow Pylons now. Just add these to your P-47d-28 skins folder. You will have 2 skins for each plane now, 1 with the Yellow pylons and 1 without...Your Choice...Have fun..

**Note I also updated the original post with the Bugsy's Collection link too.***

Absolutely gorgeous Skins! Imho, the P-47 has the most beautiful skins in the WW2 "game". Then maybe the Fw190, but those Jugs knock it out of the park!

You got it right.  Bare aluminum skin oxidizes.  It takes five times as long to polish it as it takes to wash it (ask me how I know).  No one had time for polishing except for when the brass came down with their WAC drivers for lunch and a photo shoot with the shiny airplanes.

Both the 'Flying Pig' and the 'Sheriff of El Sereno' are done. You know where to find them.

Next up.

Wonderful!

Really love the way your planes look well used… Not right out of the factory!
