To be honest, i wasn't a big fan of the rain effect when it was first presented a few months ago, but now it looks really fantastic. The same goes for everything else in this update. Coop sounds really interesting and the tank physics look amazing. Together will all the previously announced changes and additions, i just can't wait for the next update.

I flew in an AR-72 yesterday and i was surprised to see how slowly the raindrops moved across the window after we took off. Like 1cm/s or so. I was towards the end of the plane, behind the props.

This is all good , but I do have to say I will miss that wonder of American ingenuity, the Bell P-39 in my Christmas stocking.... ;)

I don't comment much around here, but this update is utterly fantastic.

The rain effect is just gorgeous.  The COOP mode will be a boon not only for virtual squadrons, but for the entire online community.  Finally, I wasn't even considering purchasing Tank Crew, but this update has totally made me rethink that choice.

Good stuff guys, thank you!

Tank Crew looks amazing!

I can't wait for that one or FC1.

VR in BoX is so remarkable, that I can't use a 2 D monitor any more, even with Track IR.

Ready to go back to the Great War in VR.

I am so pleased about Tank Crew because it is about time we had a true WW II tank sim and not another arcade game, and this is just the team to do it right!

My first love is flight sims, but I really want a true eastern front tank sim since Steel Fury is really showing its age despite the mods.

The bottom line is that I will but anything and everything that comes from this dev team.

I'm not having a go at you, but this fallacious non-argument gets wheeled out from time to time about how there's no point adding any content or support for the Ju 52 because no-one seems to be using it. I'm obviously coming at this with a bit of confirmation bias because I do use the Ju 52 so I'm alert to any posts where people are discussing it, but there are plenty of people who seem to enjoy flying it but are disappointed by the lack of content and support.

There are a number of threads including this one where people have suggested adding points for conducting missions like paradrops, cargo runs and medivac, which would go a long way towards evening this out a bit. Just chucking random assets in doesn't work, they need support.

For MP, I definitely see the use, but building out a SP campaign I simply don't think the build out for the mission system would be worth it for the returns.

The returns is support for customers that are supporting the business. It is not hard to have the Ai select a target airfield for medivac, VIP, cargo and transport deliveries or a target spot for a paratroop drop. It would assign escorts as per usual in missions now and any defenders. We don't need kill stats etc. Just getting home safe is the goal. Its war after all not a leaderboard.

If more content (dynamic campaign career) was available for the aircraft it could very well encourage more to players to purchase the aircraft. If they don't have content for it then why would you expect people to purchase it?

The drops will be in the boundary layer so will not move at the speed of the slipstream.

If I remember correctly there was also a transport version of the He 111, which I'm sure could be added as a very easy mod/unlock (cargo loadout, presumably reduced defensive armament, new skin perhaps) and that could be added in to a 'transport career' where some missions are with the Ju 52 and some with the Heinkel, to add a degree of variety.

And there are a whole host of different possible mission types and ways to create interest and do something interesting. Cargo missions in areas where heavy flak or fighter cover creates 'no-go' zones resulting in navigation challenges where you have to choose and plot a safe route, or a requirement to meet a train with a VIP or deliver a unit of troops to meet a departing ship, or meet a convoy full of troops to load for a paradrop, or even to land to resupply a busy airfield in constant use when you only have a certain window to arrive in, all of which would require the route to be timed carefully to allow for arrival at the right point.

Or medivac missions where you have to fully carefully and return to base within a set time limit to save the casualties.

Logistics is all about a set of interlocking systems working in concert, and creating missions that convey this sense of being a part of a bigger machine would add a lot and may even persuade some people to jump into transport flying who might not have considered it before.

Yeah I have not done online in many years. This new Coop might change that at some point.

Looking really impressive, very much looking forward to seeing this all come together and using it on my machine, the next update cannot come soon enough.

Great work so far guys, thank you very much, really appreciated. :salute:

Wishing you all the very best, Pete.

I have looked at several photographs of the G6 packages and I wonder if in reality they would look as balls as the capture. Are not they a bit big in terms of roundness like beach balls like they look in the catch? In the real photos they look big but not so rounded.

Maybe just wait until it's out to pass judgement on the G6's "balls".

A single screenshot is not very useful.

It's going to need some of those BIG balls to fight the La-5fn I'm afraid.

Must say, some of these posts are quite ballsy :)

Guys this plane looks bad-ass... and as a red flyer, I'm probably gonna pee a little when it's on my tail.

Also I think the reason they look very pronounced is because of the paint, bright yellow with eyes.. depending on camo, they will stand out more or less

I have the same opinion.

The optical illusion of the bright yellow makes the bulges look bigger.

A comparison.

(Forgive me my photoshop skills)

After all, it wouldn't be a proper flight sim forum if someone didn't question the 3D model before even coming out and seeing it in game.

Simply superb.

The rain effect is what ive always wanted in a serious sim!

The tree felling is excellent. Really well implemented.
