I'm impressed by the lighting here. Sky and ground appear to be lit up very naturally.

Holdfast..Not bad, but...

Graviteam Tactics Mius Front. It is from the devs of the tank sim Steel Fury and Kharkov 1942. So even though Graviteam Tactics is RTS, the level of detail is on par with actual Tank Sim...uses same engine basically.

The last screenshot is from Holdfast Nations at War.

I have played some good battles on Tank warfare : Tunisia 1943 from the same studio (Graviteam Tactics). When you get used to the controls UI, it is possible to control quite a few tactics for tanks, infantry and the very useful artillery (anti-tank guns are sometimes crucial in the outcome of such battles).

Some shots from Graviteam´s Mius front. Operation Moduler.  During the South African Border war, 5 lonesome T-55 from the FAPLA had to face an massive attac from the South African denfce force in 1987. Sounds a bit exotic eh?

How is Run 8 compared to train sim? I've thought about getting it but not sure if it's worthwhile.

Run8 vs trainsim is like DCS vs Warthunder.

Run8 isn't a major looker, but it's a damn good train simulator.

Does it only deal with diesel? Some of train sims steam trains are pretty good (at least the ones from 3rd parties)

I believe it only has diesels, the last time I played. It's quite complicated. With all the switching and stuff. It's hardcore as they say.

Definitely hard core for realism, but i personally find the graphics for a 2019 game a little poor.

But Run 8 is not about eye candy, as all the other users keep telling me.  ;)

Now you are talking!... I love the early cars from the 60's and 70's.

So much harder to control and so easy to loose it from the slightest mistake...

I wish someone would do a remake of Grand Prix Legends... I'd never be off it!

That is awesome DD_Arthur. If I had enough money for a good steering wheel and some pedals I would be all over that.

Nothing quite like driving a steam locomotive. If only we could get some good quality American Steam in this game.

If I had a high quality American steam locomotive I'd be happy, a high quality PRR K4 would be a dream.

HMS Marulken Build144.

It become Wolfpack: https://store.steampowered.com/app/490920/Wolfpack/

We have Planes/Tanks to play in. Heaven on a stick would be to add ships, subs, infantry and trains, but that's just wishful thinking I guess.

Interesting screenies Legioneod:salute:.  You need to put a visit to the Severn Valley Railway on your to-do list.

Meanwhile,  Project Cars 2 in VR is absolutely fab:).  I know nothing about racing sims but my ebay Rift came with an Xbox controller so I thought 'why not?'

I'm working my way through the classic circuits in my beloved Lotus.  "Tonight Matthew, I'm going to be Graham Hill"
