Bremspropeller Posted January 14, 2021 Posted January 14, 2021 VF-51 on detachment in Israel. Takeoff from Ramat David in easterly direction for a patrol in south-westerly Syria and Libanon. Heading northeast towards Damascus, the syrian capitol. Cruising high above Syria after turning west towards the Mediterranean Sea. Flying at FL400 and mach 0.78 to conserve fuel. Going feet wet north of Beirut. After turning south and crossing back over into israeli airspace, we're going low-level along the coast. The low level-route brings us back around east to intercept the Jordan River. Arriving back at Ramat David we're doing a quick airshow over the field and to three touch'n'goes. Total flight-time just under 2h with 3000lbs of gas to spare.
Bremspropeller Posted January 14, 2021 Posted January 14, 2021 Let's take 'Bullet 202' of VF-2 "Bounty Hunters" on a fam hop around the greater Incirlik area. 1
Boomerang Posted January 18, 2021 Posted January 18, 2021 Screen Shots taken were using a 1660 Super and 3060 ti at full Bling settings for each GPU used. Graphics look pretty darn good. 3 ctd during game play on different days. I don't mind this title for an rpg, having fun playing it.

Feathered_IV Posted January 18, 2021 Posted January 18, 2021 I'm unlikely to buy many of those games. Mostly because nobody bothers to say what the f*k they are. 1

Cybermat47 Posted January 27, 2021 Posted January 27, 2021 Jurassic World Evolution Tyrannosaurus rex VS Giganotosaurus carolinii In real life, G. carolinii and T. rex were around the same size, and both filled the niche of apex predator. However, the South America of 98-97 MYA and the North America of 68-66 MYA were different ecosystems that placed different demands on apex predators. Because of this, G. carolinii's bite was faster but weaker than that of T. rex, which had evolved to literally shatter bones with its jaws. 1
DetCord12B Posted January 31, 2021 Author Posted January 31, 2021 Oh @[Pb]Cybermat47, what a complete disappointment that game was. It was billed as a tycoon game but lacks any sort of tycoon aspects. On the bright side however, there is this. The demo has since been removed, but it was a blast to play and demonstrated the depth the game is capable of. Keep an eye on it. 2
Bremspropeller Posted February 2, 2021 Posted February 2, 2021 Delivering a curry-jalapeno... Tandoori-dart. Love that camo-scheme on the VF-74 jet. Gazelle taking a rest in an endemic ilyushn-tree. Cats on the cat. 1

IIRC you gave me a link to the demo back when it was still available, good stuff. Between the scientific accuracy and the fact that Nigel Marven is in the trailer, I kinda have to buy it Here's Nigel back when he used to travel back in time to harass prehistoric animals: Edited February 3, 2021 by [Pb]Cybermat47

Bremspropeller Posted February 8, 2021 Posted February 8, 2021 I guess if you're used to it, it's alright. When you think it's just a VTOL F-18, you're in for a surprise. A lot of counter-intuitive stuff. The flying isn't the issue (managed to bring her aboard ship in a half decent fashion on the first try), but operating the HOTAS is.
Birdman Posted February 12, 2021 Posted February 12, 2021 Was a fan of Atlantic fleet and Cold Waters, been enjoying War on the Sea very much
Bremspropeller Posted February 13, 2021 Posted February 13, 2021 Just had a creative phase and thought it was a good idea to build a FARP in the wild... Harriers are lotsa fun, even though the HOTAS is quite a pain when coming over from the Hornet. You'll have to watch out and not taxi into those anti-frag containers! Engine-startup makes for a rough awakening at 3a.m. Off to kill some terrorists! Did I mention the A-4E was a ducload of fun? Luke and Douglas Skyhawker are off to no good... Though flying and fighting at night on steam-gauges is MUI DIFFERENTE! 'Catball' performing one of those "Harry Tasker" take-offs... Putting the "Night" into 'Night Attack'... 3

I have long term plans involving FARPS. Whop whop whop whop whop. 1
Bremspropeller Posted February 14, 2021 Posted February 14, 2021 Operating MiGs from roads is fun. Especially since you can place non-VTOL modules (other than FC3 airplanes) by just adjusting a .lua entry. I have found that operating normal modules (no wind, though) from those small bi-lane roads doesn't create a non-handleable challenge. Works for Hornets and Vipers just fine as well. Haven't tried the Hog yet (wide wheelbase!), but the Scooter can handle those roads fine, too. 1
Legioneod Posted February 15, 2021 Posted February 15, 2021 War on the Sea. A bit clunky in controls but not bad overall.
Bremspropeller Posted February 18, 2021 Posted February 18, 2021 Flying to have a barbie.. Making an impression... Rampant Raider ...post strike... The dive-toss function of the radar is great!

Bremspropeller Posted March 27, 2021 Posted March 27, 2021 (edited) Dakota 201 firing up. Starfighter 201 is hot-refuelling and re-arming in the background. Ready to taxi... Dakota 201 and 203 ready for departure RWY 33, Ramat David. Ghostriders above Damascus. Trying to investigate a radar-contact farther to the northeast. VF-51 "Eagle 102" just after being launched. USS Tarawa in the background. Starfighter 201 in the aerlier scheme from just after the transition to TOMCATS! Love this scheme! Starfighter 201 high above the littoral waters of northern Lebanon. Bremspropeller Posted April 11, 2021 Posted April 11, 2021 Flying wild Alaska! Departing Kodiak, headed for Shemya. If you're throwing a shadow, it counts as a sunny day! A shiny new B727-46 on it's delivery to Japan via the Aleutian route. 'Sagami' turning finals into Tokyo Haneda. Golden evening light over Tokyo Bay. The airport-scenery and the airplane are not quite contemporary... When Pan Am still was a big shot in South America. Departing Caracas for Miami. 2

Not to worry, with your Fuel Flow at 80,000 pounds and hour and only 4500 pounds on board...you'll be walking home anyway. Then again, not being a C model guy, perhaps that 4488 will be your gas over your waypoint 01 in another 2 mins 47 secs rather than current FOB. In that case you currently have (working backwards...) 2:47 is 2.8 minutes and your FF is 1333 ppm so...2.8 times 1333 = 3733 pounds burned to get to WP 01 meaning you would have 4488 + 3733 = 8221 pounds FOB. Why in the hell are you tricking an old man into doing math in public? Bastige Edited April 23, 2021 by busdriver 3

I wonder which blimp but that FFM in there - if that thing is getting pegged at 80,000pph anyway, is that supposed to tell me something about my flying? ? That’s just mean. Here it is 0320 and I’m at the kitchen table in the dark at my iPad because I woke up thinking about this thread. It reminded me of one of my last hops in the jet before going to my airline gig. Back in the Jurassic Era we had a qualification known as VLA (Very Low Altitude) that required us to fly at ~100 feet AGL and 540 KIAS. There I was getting chased by an IP who was telling me to “push it up...see if you can get 600.” My silent response was “f*ck that, I’m a dead man if I take a bird.” Suffice to say I had little interest in being VLA qualified. But oddly I had no discomfort at 300-500 feet and 600 KIAS. We had no radar altimeter so we just “eyeballed” it with the baro altimeter. And...seeing 2000 pounds as the Bingo fuel is another thing. My dinosaur brain tells me, that’s how much you should have on Initial if you don’t have the pattern to yourself...and how once my highly experienced Flight Lead (former Aggressor dude) kept mumbling his fuel state coming back from a distant MOA. He landed with fumes without declaring Minimum or Emergency Fuel. 1
