Probably around the time DX11 and 64bit was implemented. The name change was just announced in the last announcement.

Or maybe when we started playing BOS. Graphic engine was reworked, improved for Il2

The updates were gradual. The original Digital Nature Engine was 32 bit, Dx9, totally different performance modelling etc. It got updated here and there over time and this changed the core code fundamentally in the end so they just decided to rename this new and basically completely updated engine the Digital Warfare Engine to avoid confusion with the engine that ROF is still using.

It's just a rebranding to reflect all the gradual changes made in the last few of years.

 

They was no one single moment when we transitioned to the DWE although DX11 was pretty important.

i'm was wondering if A-20 would be able to carry 16 - 100 and 4 - 250 under wing together, and what it would be maximum bomb load
