Thx ST_ami7b5. I won't be able to test it until the weekend. I sure hope it solves some issues. I don't know where the problem lies in this mess, but it appears more and more of us are being affected. There really should be some efforts made to resolve this issue.

We have been going on about this for months... The dev's know about it, nvidea know about it, it's been reported numerous times.

I wouldn't expect anything to happen to be honest... I'm sure all parties just expect us to buy a new graphics card and shut up :(

Hi all! I'm new in this forum and i saw this topic.

I have a serious problem with BoS after the upgrade of my rig.. before this i had the AMD r9 280x and the game run perfectly. After changing with a Nvidia MSI 1080ti (with all drivers up to date) the game has problem launching with the steam launcher (solved by launching with the .exe) and in-game i cannot do any type of mission, any (campaign, quick battle, etc..)

my rig:

mb: msi z370 gaming pro carbon ac
cpu: i7 8700k
gpu: msi 1080ti
ram: corsair vengeance 32gb 3000mhz

ssd samsung m.2 250gb
OS: windows 10 pro

i don't know if this is the right topic for this kind of issues and i'm sorry for the poor english.

Something needs to happen. My whole squad/clan/group is upset. They’ve vowed never to play this game again. Ever. My family is mad. Even two guys* I talked to on the street were upset. They aren’t going to buy any more of this series.

There. Now we’ll get some action!

*Disclaimer. The two guys never said that but I’m pretty sure they aren’t going to buy BoX anytime soon.

I've been using the above driver without a crash all day.

Do you have any other major problems with other games while using this driver?

To be honest, I haven't really tried any others yet. I only play a handful anyway. I guess in my mind, I'd rather trade out drivers now and then if it means I can fly IL-2 again without crashing constantly. It isn't the perfect solution, but installing drivers isn't difficult.

Thanks again to ST_ami7b5 for posting the 368.81 driver version a few days ago. I've not had a single crash today. Between flying and just letting the game run on its own, I've gotten over 12 hours today without an issue.

I wonder if some of the newer drivers with 3D and the DSR capability are causing issues with the 7xx cards? This older driver does not have those options in the 3D settings menu.

You are welcome Rjel, but it's not 368.81 but 337.88 :)

Haven't experienced a single crash in one week flying daily...

Let's hope it will last.

Doh! I hope my mistake didn't cause anyone further frustration. They should take the internet away from me late at night.

it seem to be good also for me with 337.88

Posted (edited)

I see that 337.88 is not good for the  texture of the runway

also I try to install 390.65 again and now It's ok for me , I use the soft :  " Display Driver Uninstaller " for a good cleaning

Same here. The crash even occured faster as normal with the newest driver.

What was wrong with runway texture in 337.88?

Can you post a screenshot?

I tried 337.88... runway textures at Anapa were horrendous, the whole area covered in a black textures (in the Taman bridgehead campaign)...

Switched now to 388.71. Managed to fly another campaign mission last night without the D3D error showing up.

This whole situation is really getting to me, I am so frustrated and fed up with it.

I have managed to save the funds to order another set of rudder pedals, as my old set has just about had it now (had them for many years), and now with this situation still not resolved, I really can't afford to buy another graphics card costing hundreds of pounds.  :(

Posted (edited)

For me the most important thing at the moment is the game doesn't crash for more than one week of daily intensive testing work...

Are the same runaway textures at Anapa OK with 388.71?

Yes mate, they are fine :)

So it seems I will definitely have to buy 1060 6GB in near future :(

Tried 388.71, crashed after 5 mins... so back to ancient, not so nice but stable 337.88 for the period of testing.

Then... see above.

I'm not sure it makes any difference, but I have gone into my BoS settings and reset my graphic parameters after applying new drivers... for 337.88 they worked fine, but had to change them due to the bad runway textures.

For 385.69, Same procedure, they worked fine as well, but could not use them as when I played other more up to date games they created problems for the newer games.

388.71, carried out reset of graphics in game, they are continuing to work fine with BoS and my newer games as well (so far)... I'll report again if there is any change.

Pisser. :( I just had my first crash since installing the 337.88 driver. Same error message as before. Still once in a week isn't bad.

One question if someone looks at this. If you use the 3D settings screen, do those settings stay as a saved config for you? I've noticed mine aren't, either as a global setting or as a specific setting related to IL-2. I'm wondering if a reinstall would correct that?

Had 2 error messages since installing 388.71 (in 4 days, sigh)... I've had enough  :(

Hey guys, bought a PC build about a week ago and finally got the game i wanted, Il-2 Battle of Stalingrad. Booted it up and within the first 5 minutes into flight I get a error message saying DXRenderer11;;endFrame(...) DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED (0x887a0005). Now i found on the forum something on this and ive tried all the things that are said to correct it (downgrading my driver) and it still does the same thing. Please, I really want to play this game! SPECS: GTX 780, Intel i5 2500k, 16gb RAM, Corsair 750CX PSU, Samsung Evo 250 gb ssd,

You are one of many mate... no one is bothered I'm afraid :(

The driver ST_ami7b5 posted worked well for me. Only a single crash in a week. Not a perfect solution but it does work until or more likely if something gets done by anyone to help us 7xx card users.

Just installed the new 390.77 Nvidia driver yesterday and the launcher crashes on start up. Rebooted and the game loaded, but it still crashes off and on. Not using steam.

Posted

Installed the new drivers, played the game and each time had the usual error messages after about 5 mins of play...   :dash:

Just a thought, right now before next Gen grx cards come out GTX780/ti still have good performance with many games, it would seem the optimum time to unload them at highest price to put towards an upgrade?

I waited a little too long when I sold my GTX770 had I traded it earlier I would have been much better off, costs nothing to put it on the market and check interest...

Cheers, Dakpilot

Installed the new drivers over the weekend. I've only had one start up crash. I've been starting the game with he launcher lately which I hadn't done only to download updates. Very strange issue we have here.

I would love to upgrade but I will not pay the outrageous prices being put on cards right now. Hoping they come down in price by summer

I've come back to this game after some years only to find it crashes within 20 minutes usually (the DX3 thing everyone's posting screenies of). After googling I see it's being going on for months and found a link to here where I then see absolutely nothing has been or is being done to fix it. Not a single word from the game's team. Nothing.
I was planning on buying all the bits to get it up to date. That's not going to happen now, it's not playable.

Genuine question...has the game been dumped?

Posted

Yes, card prices are going through the roof at the moment... it's all to do with this 'mining' crap for bitcoins etc.

I have solved my problems by convincing one of my relations to lend me his GTX 980 as he is not using his pc for a few weeks.

Not ideal as I have to give it back of course, but I actually managed to finish a mission today without the bloody game crashing... HUZZAH!
