guys, i downloaded this and installed to correct folder, no joy, so i done manually, and it shows up in the scripted missions np, but on trying to start there is no mission breifing so it wont start any missions, which file do i need to redownload for this, is it the lua?

it's probably the foldernaming or  media folder missing that causes this.

all the files plus the media FOLDER should be in ... data\Campaigns\Chir Front

no other name to be used ....

ok, got all thats listed,

data/campaigns/chir front/media/in that folder is skip/and a list of sound files, chir front has the media folder plus a lot of others inc mission files, tried moving them into media folder still no luck

Hi guys, I seem to be having a similar problem with the first mission. Just before I reach the target area, the sim crashes and I get this error message flash up...

 

Cannot open effect: graphics\effects\arm\hit_shell_he_200-1000g_ground.epl

 

Any ideas as to what is causing this?

I believe the fix for that is bottom of page before

Ah, I should have said, I already tried that solution and it is still not working.

That file is in one of the 3 graphics GTP files, and should load automatically. Are you using MODs?

Chir Front is not using any.

 

A fix might be: remove these 3 from the data folder, delete or rename the update folder. Then run the Launcher, they will reinstall.

WARNING: backup your skins folder first if you have personal skins installed.

ADDED PS: just tried it, all media events work, but you cannot skip them (should be do-able with the mouse).

Something doesn't work right: any other mission the pilot head snap centering with Numpad 5 works fine,

but with Chir Front it moves to backwards view. plane fies fine ...

 

Probably some parameter missing in the misssion file to do with updating via resave in the past;

any tips for a fix that the mission loads the right input settings?

 

 

Hi JJ. No I do not use Mods. Sorry, but I don't understand the rest of your explanation. What 3 GTP files? I don't see the one in question in the data folder. The previous solution said, to put the files below into here...G:\IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles\data\LuaScripts\worldobjects\mapemitters. Which I have done and it hasn't fixed it.

With these in my data/LuaScripts/WorldObjects/mapemitters/test  everything is running fine, except for what Jollyjack stated above.

I had no problem with the first mission at least. I'll see for the rest of this nice campaign.

Please compare the texts of the joined ones with yours...they should be the same contents.

Maybe your extensions are off in windows folder view options.

 

Maybe something might be wrong with your IL2 installation?

my problem is i cant even start a mission, all files are correct an i have the latest download, but on the mission page i have no description of mission, just says mission loading so i cant start any of them

@Madcop i didnt have those txt files, but wierdly they are in the JG mission, are you sure they are this campaigns files?

Are you talking about the missions in the campaign? The first one should load, if not I guess the mediafiles location, or even missing files are the reason it won't load.

First a screen should load with a sort of periscope view, and a radio.

Did you install manually, or via JSGME?

Inside the Chir Front v 4.601 is a folder called Chir Front. That's the one that must be in you campaigns folder's root.

@jollyjack excellent thank you that now lists them all and just tested quickly, it all runs and i taxi up to the runway, ill try properly later, seems the new file on front page is totally diff to the one you gave me, thanks a lot

Hi Madcop and JJ. This is the contents of...

G:\IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles\data\LuaScripts\worldobjects\mapemitters\test

I have 21 scripted campaigns installed, this is the only one I've ever had an issue with. No other issues with IL-2 installation, it runs beautifully. Files extensions are on.

Did you compare the text of each file I joined , with the content of your files. The titles can be the same , but the content may be different. 

If yours and mines match I have no other solution....

So I tried this and...it worked!! I found the veteran_ari1 file had them but the others did not, so I did the same to all and bingo. Flew first mission, bagged 4 of the 5 IL-2 shot down and flew home, job done. Thank you both so much.

just gotta add as im playin this, thanks a lot  its very good, love the way its more natural, like returning to base whatever happens, low fuel/ammo etc, without getting mission fail, as you can only do what you can eh.

I think so, but maybe some missing old epl files like hit_shell_he_200_ 1000_ground.epl are missing from the graphics-effects-surf folder.

Tried to find them, as some seem to be only in the effects-arm folder in older game versions.

 

Just checked, install with JSGME:works for the first 4 missions at least: download:
