Hi

 

I am new to your server and just starting to fly again in IL2, does your server have a team speak or discord channel you use for comms I gather you would and does it have an english speaking area as thats the only language I know.

 

I live in the South West of Western Australia which is about as far away from Finland as You can get but I have no lag issues you must run a very powerful server with very fast internet speed

Renaming sector 2 CP1 to CP2?

 

Hi, this may have been addressed before, but I fly ground support for tanks a lot, and communicate through chat bar with tank crew, and there has always been confusion with regards to CP1 sector. Many people on chat are instinctively referring to Sector 2 CP1 as CP2 It seems intuitive to me at least that since we only have one CP per sector, there might be some merit in renaming sector 2 Cp as CP2. This would keep the chat down to minimum as well.

 

Perhaps this is not possible, or there are good reasons for it being the way it is. What do others think? Anyway, enjoying the server.

Hi. The server is a normal desktop compy with AMD Ryzen 5 5600X, connected to a 1/1 Gigabit optical connection :)

Yeah, this is actually some legacy code which causes this. Previously we tested a setup, where there were several CPs per sector, but as there are only one per sector now, they're all "CP1". I'll remove the number, so then they can be referenced as "Sector #1 CP", and "Sector #2 CP".

Great fun last night on the Server with 6 to 7 red tanks working together in attacking the German Temp Airfield and locking it down for a long period of time until we fought back.. Thanks to the guys on Finish who bulid the missions for us tanker to enjoy.

Hi, every time I connect to the server (this afternoon) i lose my connection after 20 secondes . Fisrt time it happen. Anybody else encounter same trouble?

Stats have been reset in less than a week now.

I really think that the cycle is too quick now and the point of statistics kind of disappears with so frequent resets.

Agreed. Quarter long stats periods actually meant something. Can we revert back to the old system please?

Making some progress on redoing the bot. Just wanted to say thank you as this is SO much better to work with. :) Hopefully once it is worked out some kinks I can post it for others to use in their discord as well.

Hi Temuri.  I’m noticing some kill stats for “Heavy Tanks AI” and Medium Tanks AI.   Are these kills meaning we now get extra credit for AI Crew killed in a player tank?  Or are we now seen moving AI tanks spawning into the the game?  Thanks.

What is the correct way to leave the tank so as not to lose the tank? I drove to the spawn, drove up to the truck, turned off the engine. opened hatches, replenished ammunition and fuel. Pressed to complete the mission. I am credited with the loss of a tank.

We don't actually know. We think it's a game bug, but the tank sortie end line has a tendency to output the coordinates as something invalid like "0.000,0.000,0.000". As in, the game doesn't know where you ended up.

In the table, the best tankers in the first places are people who complete their combat missions constantly keeping the tank. Moreover, it is not uncommon to record the destroyed equipment and, after a few seconds, the completion of the mission with the preservation of the tank. How do they do that?

That entry refers to tanks not driven by players. I think static tanks also count as AI ones.

Hi. An hour a go i bombard rear depot in section two with a ju88 by dropping two 1000kgr bombs in a dive from about 600m. Before dropping rear depot was undamaged. I had a 15 sec delay and i saw in my back a huge claud. I hit the statistics batton and for a while my name (335th_GRAlbatros74) was apearing with red letters i hit button again after a while and i saw no target hit. After that i visited the finnish internet page and i saw 88% insteed of a 100%  health for the depot. After landing again there was no succes given. i doubt that some body else hit the rear depot. it is a pity that it was a very long mission that it took almost two hours for nothing. Unfortunately i didn't record the mission. What could go wrong? I am sure that i did a lot of damage...

But there are no "static" heavy AI tanks.  Anyway, let me go on record saying I'm not a fan of the new "ever changing Stats model."  I prefer the old QTR based stat tallies.  Just my humble less that 2.15 cents adjusted for Biden Inflation.  Thanks

The stats are now roll monthly instead of per map.

1). I agree, I believe that at the very least, it should be based on best 2-out-of-3 wins before going to the next stats period.

2).  Careful with that...  I showed up ONCE on ONE THREAD and made ONE post that got the whole thread locked for being "too political".  Apparently, someone in the upper management voted for Brandon.

Hi Finnish Dev team

 

I'd like to suggest a game play mechanic that adds usefulness to the AAA trucks/tracks and will result in interesting tank and air battles around the CP.

 

So basically the idea is that when the CP is captured, 2-5min later 3x supply trucks spawn at the nearest tank spawn and drive to the CP. Players in AAA trucks/tracks can then escort these to the CP protecting them from enemy pilots. Once they are there they will resupply friendly tanks with fuel and ammo (not repair). I'd set the range to something like 15m so that you need to be right next to the truck to re-arm.

 

This would mean that tankers only have to drive back to the CP to re-arm after attacking enemy troops bases. It also adds incentive to holding the CP.

 

As far as server load goes, I'm pretty sure the truck AI is very limited so won't drain server resources much.

To Devs of the server:

 

Seems that a trouble is occuring at this moment with the server. Current mission should be finished from at last 20 minutes and still at 0h 00 mn ?

Is it possible in the killboard to no longer be considered as "killed" when you come back from a mission alive?

Example: http://stats.virtualpilots.fi:8000/fr/tankman_killboard/15270/No_Face/?tour=46 here, the statistics consider that BlauNOVA killed me, but if we look at what really happened during the game http://stats.virtualpilots.fi:8000/fr/tankman_sortie/log/2028296/?tour=46 you can see that no, I'm not dead.

The same goes for the status "destroyed" or whatever and the -20% penalty that goes with it (6% damage, that's not what I call destroyed).

We agree, these are just details, it doesn't prevent you from playing and it's not new but still, I talk about it. ?

Does anyone have by chance the replay of the game #11940 (start time (FR) : 07.12.2021 21:16, end time (FR) : 08.12.2021 02:20)

 

I want to see again a passage that took place near CP1 SE1 between 21h35 and 21h45 (FR time)

Hi admins,

 

Can we please abandon the north-south divides? The maps don't work like that, the lines get very silly & the division of airfields available doesn't work in a fair way, because IRL they were laid out with an idea of a front moving east-west.

 

Also, now we have awesome new clouds which result in improved performance, can we please dramatically reduce the incidence of clear skies maps? They are boring as hell and unfairly advantage the axis.

It would be a nice addition if the AAA  Trucks  could be spawned  as RRR and driven into the field for Tank resupply, refuel, re-arm.

In my opinion it’s too much overcast weather…. The reason why I don’t like is I like level Bombing. ?

You see we are two pilots with two opinion and a reason for it….

So I have to say pleaaase don’t reduce the number of clear weather maps…??

Flew a couple of sorties today, all went bad but I managed to bail out two times, and recorded as that at the end of mission, yet the star server says I was killed both time, is this normal? I was wounded both time, maybe that's why?

You probably bailed on the enemy’s side and were captured. Check what the chat says in game after the sortie.

Yeah might be, I thought it would then appear as "captured" in the stats. Thx for your answer

I had two questions about the stat page.  12.12.2021 0155 I rearmed several times.  The last time I landed the p38, stopped in the rearm location and shut down at 04:47.  During rearm my plane jumps about thirty feet in the air (at 04:48:07) and I fall to the ground and explode.  The stats page says "Take off"  which is impossible because it takes two minutes and thirty seconds to start a p38 thanks to the devs.   Has this type of thing been happening during rearm or being reported happening?

 

The second question was penalty bailout.  Again in the p38 i get hit by 109 (madcapp 14.12.2021 0342). As usual when a p38 gets hit even a little it wobbles.  He passes, I turn to others, he catches quickly, I make one turn over 300 degrees, can't effectively turn with the wobbles so I go nose up and bail.  Stats said .5 damage (lmao, then why if flying so crappy?) and penalty bail out.  So what percent of damage is required to not get penalty bailout?

 

Answer if you have time as it ain't important, just wondering.

Exploding planes bug on rearm/resupply has been noted before on the FVP discord, although I'm unsure as why it happens. I haven't seen a bug report to the il2 devs.

You always get a 50% score penalty for bailout - perhaps you're thinking of the undamaged bailout penalty on combat box? I don't think that is active on combat box. iirc any damage will stop the undamaged bailout penalty from applying on combat box (bear in mind some shots cause less than 0.01 damage, in which case it's counted as 0 damage)

Seems ? Kuban map was won by Red Side ....and score on your Finnish virtual web site still at 1-0...
