Got the feature coded last night. Now only needs to update the campaign app on the server so it starts to generate the JSON file.

This game simulates the frustration the allies must have felt not having the machinery to take it to the Tigers and Panthers especially in the open. Getting taken out by a dot on the horizon in one shot can be extremely frustrating.

more like pure fantasy where axis have airplanes in air in same numbers as allieds, and more tanks then them LOL what sim your talking about its axis wet dream what game provides in MP we have, nothing like ww2 sim, its what if axis had their wonder toys and have same or more of them then allieds at same time.

There is no Axis Supply Airstart available in the current mission....  (12.30 German time)

Yes, the Finnish' Server only purpose is to hurt your "allied feelings" because you can't have your wet dream of 20 to 1 supremacy.

 

Okay, now seriously: Do you think it is fun to get your ass served by a 20 to 1 supremacy on a regular basis?

This is a computergame and if it is not fun to play on ->whatever<- side, noone would play it at all.

 

Empty server = no fun

 

Untamo, Temuri and the crew are doing a good job with the balance and they listen to constructive feedback.

 

As far as I can see, this server is the best attended server in IL2, so it seems to hit the spot for a good amount of players. 

 

If you want to replay the situation as it was and how the war came to an end, it might be better to watch a documentary than play a game.

"The World at War" is a good one. 12 DVDs. 22 hours. British documentary from the 1970s. I'm half way through.

There you'd have correct numbers and historical outcome.

In current mission running, temporary AF while supplied twice, does not open !..............> IN 2120 (Inyutino)

There's been a small discussion on the FVP forums concerning Kamikaze attacks. If some pilots don't value their virtual lives, that's ok. However, I'm curious about these type of attacks. Does crashing into a bunker, warehouse, etc destroy them totally? I personally have never done a Kamikaze attack, but the discussion is the value of the pilot point-wise vs the point value of the target. I can see what the Kamikaze side is expressing. Currently, the value of a pilot is 300 compared to some other targets whose values can be up to 1000 points. They are saying it's better to Kamikaze into these high point value targets rather than bombing & returning to base to rearm and do again. Keep in mind, these pilots don't care about surviving, but only want to move the front line to win the map. I prefer the act of surviving, but you can see their point if moving the front and winning the map are the top priority. BTW, I tried scanning all the pages here to find an answer. Unfortunately, I couldn't find one.

 

I'd like to get the admins opinion on this matters, as well as, other pilot/tankers that call FVP home. I'd find it unfortunate if the kamikaze attack gained a lot of attention if it became the best option to moving & winning maps.

Currently, the temporaries should be "open" from mission start. This is not the case?

the appearance of the icon on the map suggests that it is not open. The icon should be identical to the other AF icons.

 

The only difference being that in order to be able to take a plane or a tank from this base, it must be supplied.

As far as I know (and I play a lot on the server), this is very rare. 99% of players try to carry out their missions within the rules, and those who die crashing into their targets (often tanks) do so, due to lack of experience or by not calculating their attack well.

Temuri, did you ever check the size of those airfields you put the Me 262 in? I think it's not possible to bring them airborne on those short grass/mud strips....

Our system doesn't know the length of the runways, and it doesn't choose them by if the 262 can take off from there or not. It's purely based on the location and orientation of the sector, and the most suitable airfields are selected from the few available.

Apparently the problem is in the game recording system that when the server is very full the game makes you go slow when it starts recording, but then when it stops recording it goes very fast to try to compensate that first you were going slow. This has happened to me on several servers and I have stopped recording for fear of the same thing happening.I have done what you asked me and I have spoken with Blacksix and IL2_Sec_Branch but they have not given me any answer about anything, you are the only one who can help me, since I consider it very unfair, if there is a way to prove it, tell me and I will. I already published the bug report in the forum but there is no answer either, I don't know what else I can do so I ask for your help.

thx for clarification, but this situation will limit the availability of the german jets even more...

Honestly, you can get the jet off the ground okay even on short fields, even with default fuel load. If you spool it up full power on the brakes and use 50% flap, the machine will make it up.

 

I think the AI on autopilot uses 40 something % flap by default to take off. The AI this way can usually make it airborne from any base if you put it on autopilot and watch what it does. 

 

Not ideal or historically realistic to have jets on small bases of course, but it can be done.

I personally use zero flaps during acceleration (they are huge air brakes), and apply 100% flaps just as I am about to pull to lift off. I haven't yet encountered an airfield where I couldn't take off with a 262.

I wonder if this is a good idea. Last tour was only a couple of weeks long and if someone plays just a couple of times per week, stats become irrelevant, because the sample size would be so small.

hhmmmm, my heart goes to previous one. It was like a championship and of course it was much more attractive. There, it seems like "games" or "matchs" which are played with the sole aim of winning in each round.

the feeling of competition has largely disappeared to make way for a server much closer to classic dog servers.

Any tips on how to find tanks or ground targets to blow up as a tank?  I'm new to the tank module and I don't think there's an atlas for the ground portion of the map

I'd suggest hopping on to the server Discord, and ask the same question there, might get answers quicker. Although there might be some tanking manuals here on the forums maybe?
