It's my pleasure to give you another P-40 skin. This time it's the "Little Jeanne" flown by USAAF Lieutenant Robert Warren (7th Fighter Squadron, 49th Fighter Group) during the Second World War. This is one of the restorations that were made of the plane in Australia from 2002 to 2005.

The P40 is beautifully rendered in this game, and has one of the best cockpits, I've seen so far. 

 

But it is underpowered, slow and armed with bb guns. At best, it is a passable ground attacker, but don't get into a dogfight with anybody or you will got your arse kicked. And don't go up against any moderately well armed bomber.

 

I'd rather have a LaGG3 or I16 than this crate.

 

I don't think the developers do US manufactured aircraft justice wrt flight model and armament effectiveness. The P38, 39, 40, 51D & 47* are all very underwhelming in combat, despite being very well rendered.

 

*I hope the P47 Razorback and P51B can change my mind.
