DD today?

I can understand some excitement around the Me410. Has any WWII flight sim (outside of WT's endless number of aircraft) covered the Me410? I don't know of any.

Did 1946 cover it? I can't remember and now looking back it's hard to tell against the backdrop of its extensive modding community. 

I think the 410 is going to be massive fun in the sim. It was a bit of a dud in real life because of factors that won't necessarily apply to playing a game. In the same way that people seem to really enjoy using the 110 almost exclusively as a light bomber, I think we'll all get a kick out of using the 410 as the supreme ground attacker for the axis.

Nope never. I was hoping it would but it never did... I think maybe there was a mod that came after I left the sim but nothing as part of any official pack.

The "Firepower" add-on for MS CFS3 had a 410 in it...back in 2003.

 

 

Ripped versions of this showed up years later in IL2 1946 mods.

We have the IAR, two new FC2 collector planes, the Blitz is coming pretty soon, we might get a flyable B25 if things work out.

Just checked and counted the empty bottles - IT WAS definitively the Leffe!

I believe that EAW had an AI Me-410. Il-2 1946 had AI Me-210. I think most other sims had to mod it in entirely.

probably drop tanks and fuel system only for 109s and spits at start and later on added for rest.

I am really interested in fuel mgmt, but there are no updates on progress. Sounds like it's secondary work for the engineers, while the regular plane systems and FM for new planes in the pipeline is the primary effort. Just a guess.

It's not listed in EAW's aircraft set. So it must have been a mod.

 

IL-2 Forgotten Battles did incorporate the Hungarian built Me210Ca. But not as a flyable.

 

So I think it still stands. This will be the first WWII combat flight sim to bring a flyable Me410 to the table as part of the package. It's a rare thing!

Are you sure it wasn't in '46? I'm sure I flew online multiplayer against one of the later Messerschmitt twins. I can remember being amazed at how well the pilot could throw that thing around after reading how badly it handled.

I am very much looking forward to what they do with the gunner’s position in the 410 and how they will make it operational ( aiming firing etc.,) It will be very different from the single gun approach in the Ju-88 and perhaps “interesting” in VR mode.I look forward to screenings of same.

I can guarantee you that it was not part of IL-2 1946. I dreamed of having a Me410 available when I was still making missions for that series.

 

There was a mod version that came out at some point later.

i saw a youtube video of that, i always assumed it was part of the game ? I actually only played IL-2 1946 around 2015 or so... never played it back in the day.

I flew those mod Me-410 quite a bit, specially the projects equipped with MG 213/MK213 revolver cannons ?. Lots of Brrrrtttt
