What it's coming first

F14 or P-47? ?

Do you really need to ask? We will probably be finish with Pacific by the time the F-14 is released. The Viggen still isn't released.

How did you come to that conclusion?

Way too late to be to early for a P47 update this week. As for a DD, hmmm...maybe some nice K4 and U2 shots?

The P-47 could carry more bombload than their IL-2 and bring six rockets and 8x0.5in to the game - and do it faster and farther.

But they couldn't do it under the same circumstances that the IL-2 did, nor did they have cannon to harass enemy armor/APCs.  It just didn't fit into the picture, while it did in the west.  Typical of military equipment.  I learned to love Tucanos and OV-10s and I wouldn't trade them for a B-1 under the same circumstances.

In the sim though, there will be no real downside represented.  The same way the 190 is totally peerless as a bomber, so it will be.

I wonder if they are really close to being finished with the D9 and want to wait to get that included with the update?

There's actually six aircraft in the pipe right now:

  1. P-47D-28
  2. Bf109K-4
  3. Po-2/U-2
  4. Sopwith Camel
  5. Pfalz D.IIIa
  6. FW190D-9

Reading between the lines, it seems like the first two or three may release in the next patch (although no pre-order for the Po-2 has started) and then the latter three may release before end of the year.

do you guys think that when the D9 is released it'll be released with the western European map? I'm guessing that'll be around late March?

I'd say its more likely that we'll see the FW190D-9 arrive before the map does.

Both Han and Jason (and maybe Black Six) have indicated the Me262 will come last. It will need the most work in the flight model arena as well as with the engine modeling. They may have decided for the art team to press ahead and finish the model so they can then progress to the next stage without too much delay.

Usually around 16:00 UTC (London), 17:00 MEZ (Berlin), 19:00 MSK (Moscow). So they should be there in about 3 hours. Wololo!

The promo code before the 21st of Nov, so we need the U2 to be able to use it :pilot::popcorm:

I speculate that the map may take longer to get out this time than with Kuban. With the new map tech (tons of new map tech with Kuban too i guess) and they are making 3 at once I have a feeling it will take a while.

They didn't need to. The worked smart, the VVS worked hard.

One way is to win, the other is to win with horrendous losses.

It also helps if you only have to deal with a small fraction of the enemy’s forces and not 75% like the VVS had to.

As for the DD, I CANNOT WAIT ANY LONGER

The VVS fought a tactical war, whch is a way to increase your own casualties.

Had they chosen to go for strategic targets on a large scale, they could have left the Wehrmacht ill-equipped und under-supplied and basicly squash them like trapped rats.

They chose not to, because Uncle Joe didn't give a flying duck.

I don't think there will be a DD today.

We had the announcement of the Feedback today and I think that's gonna be it for today.

Have a nice day.

Too bad a huge, increasing extent of Soviet Union was under enemy occupation and genocide and there was no ability to be so picky and high-handed when something had to be done now, right now, at all costs, or else your people and whole world ends forever.  If such terms were applied to the Anglos their prosecution of the war would have changed radically, instantly, permanently.

Shame about the DD.  Maybe an aircraft release this coming week.

Me, I'm just looking forward to being "amused." I have a feeling they are going to give us the option of putting clowns in the cockpits. I'm sure of it! That would certainly amuse me.

Another week then! ?

Doubt we will get the U-2 before November 16

I don’t really disagree. The VVS could have used their assets far better and made a much bigger impact on the ground war.  If they had focused primarilly on interdiction, they would have hit the Wehrmacht right in the Achilles’ Heel and might even have crushed the German northern flank completely in late 1941 (they came close, but the Germans managed to stiffen their defenses and stabilize the front line just as the counteroffensive was beginning to run out of steam)

Yeah the 25% offer till 20 of November makes me think we won't be getting anything new till December

Well damn looks like we're actually getting no DD this week.

Now that I am semi retired I just checked.  No DD so far today, testers not posting, so I'm thinking some time next week for an update:popcorm:

I guess we can be thankful the war didn't happen other than how it did. We wouldn't be sitting here today second guessing history. I'm not sure how much more the Western Allies could've done other than what they did do. Beyond increasing lend lease even more than they did in  reality, they couldn't march vast armies to the rescue of the Soviet forces.  Arms and munitions needed to be built up first, forces trained, vast oceans had to be crossed. Then they had to fight their way to the east from France and north from Italy. All the while fighting a vast war in the Pacific. Why act like the Western Allies need to apologize because they weren't invaded? Thank God they weren't.
