Boris_CRO 10
I don't like fiddling with colors because what can look great on on map at a certain time of the day will look weird on another one. The only real change I made was increasing just a bit the vibrance. This makes the blue underbelly of Russian planes a bit more noticeable from far distances but doesn't change much in the overall atmosphere of the game. Other than that, I also use the sharpening filter, it makes the instruments more readable to me. And that's it. Could you give me your specific settings to try it ?
Eagle-OnePirabee 11
Guys, I have some version of Sweetfx downloaded and can spot some of its files but not all. I needed to find and remove them so I can load up with Reshade but cannot because I always skip some in the process of manually deleting them. Can anyone help me on how to identify the old unwanted Sweetfx files and get rid of them, please? Pirabee.
E69_julian57 6418
Hi, I hope it serves you. : Find all the files and folders inside the BOS and delete them. Dakpilot 2204
Depending on hard drive space and internet download availability (need to update two instances), it can be quite useful to have two copies of BoS, Easily done by copy paste (need to start with clean running version obviously) and 'mod' the second one without fear, you can only be logged into one at a time Put your 'copy' in a separate named folder and create a separate named exe. for desktop Not for everyone, but it may be of some use for those who run into issues and want to always have a functioning version, delete 'gone bad' SweetFX (or 'mod' version in future) and copy again and you are back up and running with a clean version in minutes Cheers Dakpilot

1PL-Husar-1Esk 1312
Yesterday I started using newest Reshade without mediator, hence we have in game fps counter now, using it is showing approximately 55 fps difference. Turned out that for example if Reshade is running without effects or when it's turned off i have 170 fps (flying straight at 600m over Stalingard map in quick mission) Turning Adaptive Sharpening reduced fps to140 fps; Curves to 165; Deband to 152; LiftGamma to 169. When they are all turned on they cumulative drop is to ~ 120 fps. Those effects also are addding some additional ms overhead so I perceive game as more sluggish. Image is real better but .... i have to tweak it out. Edited January 22, 2017 by 307_Tomcat
VBF-12_Stick-95 1056
Interesting post and results Tomcat. I have never really done a fps check for ReShade vs game default so I though I would. The check is between my ReShade settings (posted above) being all OFF vs all ON. I made tracks of two sorties then reviewed them. I paused a track at various points taking two readings, so the readings are of the fps rendering of the same exact scene. My first sortie was flying at 600m over Stalingrad. ..........................................................Game.............ReShade............Difference Approaching smoke column.................180..................134.....................46 In smoke column...................................124.................101.....................23 Between smoke columns.......................179.................150.....................29 View of city/forest side-zoomed..............223.................153.....................70 View of city/forest side-unzoomed..........150.................116.....................34 Averages................................................171.................131.....................40...~23% I also did a sortie low over continuous forest which can be a big hit to fps. ..........................................................Game.............ReShade............Difference Looking forward....................................136..................107...................19 To the side-unzoomed...........................135..................107...................18 To the side-zoomed...............................128..................102...................26 Averages...............................................133..................105...................21...~16% Looking up.............................................250..................220..................30.....12% In these situations where fps are hit the hardest, I am seeing a difference in fps from all settings OFF vs all ON ranging on average from ~20 to ~40 fps (16-23%). This is nowhere near the 120 fps drop you mention for all settings on. It would interesting if someone else could post some results. Of course with a 60Hz monitor I am only seeing 60 fps anyway, so I am not seeing any slow down, stutter, etc.

Ahh, got ya. Numbers are very close, good to know. BTW, in general I see my fps around 180-200 above 1000m while flying and in aerial combat. The worst case fps scenario is sitting on a dirt oval airfield on the Moscow map, especially with multiple aircraft present. VBF-12_Stick-95 1056
hmmm... isn't it DX11? I think there's an option to load all the shaders, you can delete what you don't need later. Once in, Shift-F2 to bring up the menu in game. BTW I only use Reshade. Edited November 4, 2017 by VBF-12_Stick-

JG700_Benek 43
Hi, as of 2018-09-27 latest reshade version (3.4.1) works for me with patch 3.006 and latest nvidia driver(411.70). Was having some problems getting it to run and due to that I cannot exactly tell what made it run. I think you should try to run the game without reshade on latest patch to the point when you are inside the cockpit flying. Then instal reshade usual way deleting every file from previous reshade if u have any. It means get rid of shader folder every .ini file for reshade and every dxgi.dll. Then make sure you got multisampling aka antialiasing enabled ingame settings. Without AA enabled reshade crashes for me. Saddly it means u cant disable ingame aa and use SMAA for example but you can still use sharpen and colour filters. 1st screen made with patatoe 2nd ingame Edited September 27, 2018 by JG700_Benek
Mike2945 10
I have just installed the latest version of Reshade - 4.02 - and it all seems to be working fine with the latest game update (3.009). However I'm having trouble chasing my tail and going round in circles trying to come up with the optimum settings. There just aren't enough hours in the day to go tweaking all the various options, some of which impact on the others settings you think you've just got right, despite limiting the shares to the 8 'most likely' that others have mentioned in this thread! The other thought of course is that a setting that is 'just right' for a summer map is unlikely to be right for the completely different colour palette of a winter landscape. My aim therefore would be to have 2 settings, one for Summer/Autumn, and one for Winter, which I could then switch between dependent on the map I'm flying. So my question is, does anyone have any settings they find really good, or can recommend settings that work well for particular shaders, to help me with this quest? =TBAS=Sshadow14 487
As of January 2019 RESHADE Still works flawlessly and causes not FPS drops unless you use high level Anti Aliasing in Reshade.

For shaders I can recommend the ones I use/used: Clarity, Colorfulness, Lumasharpen, LUT, Tonemap and Vibrance. My aproach to correct horrible game colours was like that: - calibrate monitor to the best possible way - run game with reshade on and with all shaders mentioned above (at default settings) except LUT (lut is off) and make couple of screenshots in differenet maps time of day and cloud types. - then run adobe photoshop and make custom LUT using screenshots made before and curves & levels adobe tools - finally run the game with LUT clarity and lumasharpen on rest is off. LUT is a powerfull colour corection tool that can do what Colorfulness Tonemap and Vibrance does and set the colours right so the gray is gray not bluish without the need of extremely low gamma. For me it fixes terrible blue tint the game has. When doing custom LUT try curves tool and find smth that should be natural gray to set the colours right. If you want you can make custom lut for every map and replace it when needed. Check this: https://reshade.me/forum/shader-discussion/3179-lut-s-powerful-color-correction-the-guide and this I also recommend trying SGSSAA if your card can run it to get rid of texture shimmering.

HHMC.Spanky* 3
This worked for me so I figured I'd share it incase anyone else has similar trouble. What it fixed? IL-2 crashes on startup with ReShade 4.1.1 installed with DirectX 10+. Copied from NuTg's Post on Reddit :(Click here for the original post) The bold text are changes/additions to the original Quote So I had this problem for weeks that my game crashed on launch and or I can't activate "Reshade" effects. So I was looking for a solution. And today, thanks to u/Yui-Kitamura, I found out how to fix it for myself and I think it will help for hopefully everyone who has this problem. I'll give you few solutions/scenarios: Whenever you install "Reshade" everything works perfectly on any in game display mode (windowed, full-screen windowed, full-screen) you don't need to make any changes. Whenever you install "Reshade" and IL-2 crashes on full-screen, just change your in game display mode to windowed or full-screen windowed. When ever you install "Reshade" and IL-2 crashes on full-screen AND you don't have powerful enough PC to run it on windowed mode. In this case go to the folder where your IL-2.exe is located: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\bin\game" Look for file called "dxgi.dll" and rename it to "d3d11.dll" then launch the game. If you did 3 solution and whenever you try to open "Reshade" in game (Shift + F2) and you can't enable effects, you can only see red box and that's it. Then again go to the folder where your IL-2.exe is located: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\bin\game" And leave "d3d11.dll" renamed, but also rename file called "dxgi.ini" to "d3d11.ini" and then launch the game. The first time through (after the above fixes to #4) I was able to get all the way to clicking "Start Mission" and then it crashed again. I realized I had turned off Antialiasing. Once I turned it back "on" everything worked great.
