MDzmitry Posted May 23 Posted May 23 (edited) All the wonderful soon-to-come planes aside, I got hyped as hell to see this: Bring out the champagne, boys! The festival is not over yet! Edited May 23 by MDzmitry 12
III./SG77S_Falke Posted May 23 Posted May 23 I am curious about the new Russian aircraft... I have been reading Dmitry Zubov's recent book, "Stalin's Falcons", in which he details that both the designs of the LaGG-3 and the Yak-1 were seriously compromised by very poor production standards. Will these new planes reflect this issue in their flight performance? 1 1

The flight models are built using the test data from an aircraft from that production series, so they will reflect how they were built at the time, yes. 4 1 1
Blitzen Posted May 23 Posted May 23 (edited) Here's all my money I've saved for this...please take it ( Um...wasn't the link for the video already posted in a previous thread? So nothing new?) ! Edited May 23 by Blitzen added info 1 3
Enceladus828 Posted May 23 Posted May 23 (edited) Thank you for this, I look forward to the plans for 2026. Hopefully some more WW1 aircraft or maps. Quote A small group of enthusiasts from Odessa and Mariupol is working on the Odessa map I pray that those in Odessa and Mariupol are safe from the ongoing war and may those in Mariupol get their freedom back. Amen 🙏 Edited June 19 by Enceladus828 1 1 4
Sandmarken Posted May 23 Posted May 23 Will the odessa map come with some new ground assets like static romanian planes and vehicles? New sea crafts and or other? Will we have a romanian faction with proper voicelines and even a correct pilot model? 3

fergal69 Posted May 24 Posted May 24 (edited) Looking forward to this - monies at the ready 😀 Tad disappointed that 109 & Stuka are being released later on Edited May 24 by fergal69
sevenless Posted May 24 Posted May 24 (edited) Question to the devs: Any rough timelines/estimates as to integrating the I-153, LaGG-3, Yak-1 and the other new planes into the career modes of Moscow, Stalingrad and Kuban? Edited May 24 by sevenless 2
the_emperor Posted May 24 Posted May 24 @LukeFF with the upcoming La-7, will the WEP time limit be corrected to 5min for the M-82fn engine? Cheers
JG4_Moltke1871 Posted May 24 Posted May 24 To conclude today's dev blog, we would like to mention that the development of the Great Battles game world will not end with Siege and Liberation. Soon, we will announce our plans for 2026, and we hope they surprise and delight you! Malta and Sicily? 😜 5
BlitzPig_EL Posted May 24 Posted May 24 Unless they have had a secret map making project underway for the past couple years, in tandem with the new Korea game, I expect it will be a pack of new aircraft and some new ground assets, at most. I would not get my expectations set real high. Aim low and achieve. 4
Avimimus Posted May 24 Posted May 24 I agree. Most likely a few Collector Aircraft and some minor refinements. We'll be lucky if we get ground objects. A small part of me hopes they'll port-back their new infantry technology though! If it is compatible with earlier branches of the engine, the potential it could add is pretty significant. I keep trying to think of a way they could monetise it (special anniversary edition or something like that?)
CzechTexan Posted May 24 Posted May 24 I agree, we're already getting two maps which take a LONG time to make, so, I think we'll be getting new planes and vehicles, which is also a great thing. 2
Rjel Posted May 24 Posted May 24 Just like we all bought multiple versions of 1946, maybe they could do some tweaks to the game to modernize it somewhat. I wouldn't want to repurchase every module again but if they'd re-release it as as a complete package of improvements, tweaks and limited new content, there would be a ready market for a lot of us. The Korean sim looks great as does the other one but my heart will always be in the ETO. Personal preference. 1
ilmavoimat Posted May 24 Posted May 24 Just a minor point but any chance that the Ju87D-5 (and D-3!) could feature removal of wheel spats as an option? Spoiler

My hopes are Pe-3, Bf-110F-2 (these would fill in a lot of gaps in many of the Eastern Front battles), Pe-2 (1944), P-39Q, A-20G or Mosquito Mk. IV and some WW1 planes. Edit: we can use the BoN map to do WW1 skirmishes over the English Channel so throw in the 3 seaplanes from RoF. Edited May 24 by Enceladus828 1

Reveal hidden contents Hello @ilmavoimat In the custom skins you have one, skin 11. And this is done by tweaking the template. 1

Jackfraser24 Posted May 25 Posted May 25 4 hours ago, ACG_Bussard said: They will surprise us with ice-cold Tank Crew stuff! 😅 I think a Battle of the Baltics title would make a lot of sense if they were to do another module in Great Battles. Battle of Narva, the Baltic Offensive and the Courland Pocket would be included all in one module and they wouldn’t have to do multiple maps leading up to May 8th 1945 (VE Day). Planes like the Yak-3 and La-7 would have a historically accurate role to play in pilot career mode. German planes in Bodenplatte and Normandy would have an expanded role in pilot career. But I may be dead wrong though, as this next module could actually be merely an aircraft pack which could aid in enriching the Odessa and Karelia experience, which I’d be happy with nonetheless.
GreyHound Posted May 25 Posted May 25 North Africa or Battle of Britain would be awesome to see next. 2

migmadmarine Posted May 25 Posted May 25 Regarding removing wheel pants with Alfa channels, it works well, but has the drawback of still displaying the shadow of the removed parts on the ground, as well as not effecting performance. 1
Kubert Posted May 25 Posted May 25 11 hours ago, Cardolan said: Can I preorder this new expansion through Steam? I have bought the entire collection through Steam and would prefer to use it. I think, on Steam they release entire Siege and Liberation modul as DLC once it is fully finished and few weeks, month or even later after release on their own store. The same way as they did with Normandy. To motivate players to buy the game from their store. Which is understandable, because Steam takes a part of earnings from a sale. I am also Steam user, because when I was buying IL-2 BoS in 2018, I didn't know they have their own store. And now I just wanna have everything at the same launcher. So I will wait patiently. 1

Releasing early access DLCs on Steam is also risky because people may leave negative reviews due to them not being finished, and then it can be hard to get back to a good review score.
