12900k upgraded to 14900k and temperatures ?

HI, i just upgraded my pc from a i9 12900k to a i9 14900k. Checking temperatures now, but HWINFO shows some as quite high; is that normal? most are around 30 to 40 Celcius.

Hi!

Those are normal temps.

You are watching the "Distance to TJMAX" that means, the degrees you have until you hit the thermal limit.

You shold be watching Core Temperatures, above the category you are reading now.

Don't forget to update to the latest BIOS! 

@1PL-Husar-1Esk At least 14900K will perform better than Core Ultra.

You are right, been messing with the CPU load, and running a heavy loaded mission lowers these TjMAX temps, and raises the Core Max etc:

@jollyjack  Just curious--do you fly in VR?  If so, how has the upgrade affected your gameplay?

I am about to get the 14900K also, so looking forward to your experience.

I have now installed a new 14900kf and a 4090 og oc. 90 FPS and 90 Hz, ingame everything on ultra. It runs super smoothly and well!👍

Nope, Track hat v2. and  some expert said the K performs slightly 'better' the the KF or KS versions, dunno why ..

Seems to run smoothly. The 14900K runs quite hot, make sure your cooling is OK, use a icue H115i 2fan watercooler, and intend to get better cooling paste like Grizzly Extreme, or Noctua H2 type (cheaper). Make sure you got DDR5 ram, as i read that DDR4 does not seem to work with the 14th gen intels.
