I was thinking just now, having done my fair share of careers in all 5 modules of BoX, what one would you consider is the 'best' one? I'm thinking in terms of parameters such as, quality of the map, selection of aircraft, both flyable and AI, variety of missions and general enjoyment.

Really torn myself as to which is my favourite. I'd say Stalingrad and Normandy are the ones I come back to most. Yeah, the Stalingrad map is a bit bland, but probably a pretty accurate representation of the area at the time, good selection of interesting aircraft that are fairly well balanced in terms of performance. Normandy, love the selection of aircraft on offer, makes it interesting with some interesting mission types available, and always love flying on the British side, although encounters with the Luftwaffe can be sporadic due to the historical nature of the missions.

Western Front :)

In WWII I am oddly drawn to  Moscow.  I like the earlier stuff.  Even in WWI I have a thing for the Eindecker period.

I honestly couldn't tell you. Moscow is certainly the one I spend the most time on, but that's mostly because my Soviet pilots have a hard time living long enough to make it to Stalingrad. Even my German pilots rarely get as far as Kuban.

Normandy is probably the best map, but it's also the one where the inability to have large numbers of units in a mission hurts the most. D-Day is simultaneously pretty underwhelming and pretty laggy. It's also tricky to get a good balance of enemy AAA and fighter strength there in vanilla career--better in PWCG where they can be customized separately.

I guess I'd say I'm more interested in the whole arc of the war (actually both wars) than in any one part of it, being able to trace the evolution of the planes and the gradual shift from Axis to Allied superiority as well as follow the trajectory of a single pilot's whole career.

Haven't done many WWI careers because there have been so many weird gaps in the timeframes (no winter '17-'18?) and aircraft (Alb D.II and D.Va but no D.III? N.17 but no Pup?), but with FCIV filling in most of those gaps (still need early-war 2-seaters) I'm looking forward to giving both vanilla and PWCG WWI careers another try.

I missed Westfront 1916-18 in this poll

i voted for kuban. even if i had flown no more than 5-6 times there. Mostly flew FC and BoM, like @PatrickAWlson i like the old kites.

- Moscow: horror to navigate (i fly with the MODs "no planes no icons on map" and "get rid of P-40s by turning them into I-16s". Too long winter. And knowing about the mass murdering of soviet PoWs, civilians (slavs and jews) make me feel guilty. ethical issues.

- Stalingrad: for a Luftwaffe career flyer pretty depressing scenario. Too long winter and depending on unit too long distances. Killing so easy (both ground and airtargets) slavs make me feel guilty.

- Kuban: no navigation with maps needed. The terrain is pretty beautiful! Would like to make some holidays there. The Soviet adversaries are strong enough to fight with. Love the Bf 109 G-6

- Normandy: beautiful but laggy 07.06.44 - 15.06.44. i love shooting at beautiful US aircraft, especially because the adversaries here seem to have a bigger chance to survive by using the parachute. Sadly the team perishes 100% within 3-10 missions, unhistorical. Sadly no 4-engined bombers.

- Rheinland: beautiful and all seasons available. All fancy aircraft available. sadly no 4-engined bombers. April till May 8th scenario missing.

- Flying Circus: nice average map, easy to navigate. All seasons available. no laggs. Sadly long distances and too easy to kill AI. Only flyable with @TG-55Panthercules Skin MOD.
