RavenSystem Posted September 25, 2024 Posted September 25, 2024 (edited) This is a suggestion about Target FPS option and dynamic resolution to improve Virtual Reality experience. It is a great feature, however, having an additional option to set a different FPS value to use the lower resolution would be great for Virtual Reality. Now, target FPS value is used with the same Hz VR headset. But for VR, it is very useful to have a different option to set a FPS value to turn on lower resolution. This is because in VR, FPS limit is the frequency of display (vertical sync), but VR has some great systems to reprojects frames, allowing to use less FPS keeping a great overall experience. For example, I play at 90Hz with my Valve Index, but game renders at 45 FPS because "motion smoothing" feature generares the missing frames. However, if game is not able to render at 45 FPS because some situations require more GPU power, using a lower resolution if FPS drops under 45 would be great. I think that adding this additional parameter (FPS to use a lower resolution) to settings could be awesome, because currently game has all features need to perform the task (FPS threshold detector and dynamic resolution). @Han @LukeFF Edited September 26, 2024 by RavenSystem
