Nice big update! Really excited to try the new P-47 flight model. Good job, devs

You guys really don't like the P47 do you ?

I's even worse now ?EDIT : I was very wrong about this, flies way faster, more stable on dive.

P-40 will be a monster :')
580 km/h on the deck for 5 min, and with 56 inch, the plane can turn around in 17 sec. Oh boi :')

An early Spitfire IX with the cannon fairings modelled correctly. For the first time in a sim, or any game for that matter, since Pacific Fighters. I'm not even joking lol.

Fantastic stuff! Lovely to have the second IAR too :).

@LukeFF so in relation to the P47 changes...

Can you explain what kind of effect this will have on the P47's overall performance?

Also, can you discuss whether or not more changes are potentially coming or is this it?

Nice, they fixed that issue with the P-47D-22's spinner hub turning white when it's running. Been waiting for that one for awhile.

The IXc is nice too, I always preferred the look of the standard chord rudder on a IX.

:salute: IXc is the best-looking Spitfire there is.

I'm not an aviation engineer so I don't want to misinterpret what was changed, so I'll leave this to @Gavrick to explain. ?

Other planes are in "the list" for improvements, but it comes down (like anything) to the time the engineering team has to make them.

Thanks team!

The P-47 is a real beast now! Don't use maximum deflection of the stick! it's not needed! Need to get used to it!

Also, watch out with the fuel amount, with 100% it is a heavy Jug after all!

With the new energy retention and lift, you can enjoy high speed - high Gs performance ?

I'm sure I'm overlooking something but-

I assumed (there's that word!) that we would get the IAR-80 as an AI whether we purchased it as a flyable or not.........................

Maybe in a future update?

Posted (edited)

Awesome update! IAR-80C, IARR-81C, FW-190 Roll rate fix, P-47 energy retention fix and a new Spiffy.

Sounds like a lot of work and a very welcome update.

Hope I have time to try it over the weekend.

Thank you.:clapping:

Why it's not mentioned the Spit IXc and IXe has better climb rate now?
With 150 oct it WAS.
26,3 m/s at SL
25 m/s at 3.000
17.8 m/s at 6.000

Now:
27,7 m/s at SL

26 m/s at 3.000

20,6 m/s at 6.000

The P47 might be bettre but the AI is still not very good with it. I tried 4 Ace p47s vs 4 veteran fw190A6 at 8000m. All p47s shot down and no 190s. Same outcome 3 times. Makes it kind of hard if you want to something SP fighterbased with the p47.?

The P40 is pretty wild now, thx!  ?

A bug I’ve noticed is that for the IAR 80 when you turn the Bomb drop control on the flaps extend fully.

NVM, it's a feature of the IAR for the flaps to extend as an airbrake for dive bombing.

No bug

For easy assignment of HOTAS toggle switches, several cyclic commands are duplicated as separate on/off commands: bomb fuses, bomb bay doors, air brakes, Ju 87 siren, engine superchargers, canopy open/close, all propeller feathering, specific engine propeller feathering, tail wheel lock, and parking brakes;

This is great stuff and, even better if Il-2 would support more buttons per device!

I don't think that's a bug. If I remember correctly, the flaps on the IAR double as airbrakes for divebombing.

I was doing low level bombing of ground targets and there it was the case that I needed as much speed as possible to get away from the AA guns after I dropped my bomb.

So the 190 now has its proper roll rate? Am traveling (coincidentally about to cross the Rhine) hence no chance to check.

Accelerated stall is overdone in P47 i think.

I think this was the IARs solution for airbrakes. Why it was made that way i have no idea ?

Slight OT, but on that note does the A6 not have a manual cowl flap option? I might be missing something, but my assignment does not seem to work.
