greybeard_52 Posted November 2, 2023 Posted November 2, 2023 Hi all! Found a nice Bf 110C-6 skin with hakenkreuz and tried to set it into BoB40 section of TheOden's DCG. I was successful about my plane, but not at all regarding my flight mates. Maybe I'm doing some stupid mistake, but so far I was unable to detect, so, please, help me. Let me explain, step by step: Set the skin inside relevant template Reset campaign Chosen squadron Generated mission Going and checking the mission just generated, it's evident that no skin has been set Then going anyway to play the mission I check my plane sports chosen skin --- As well as during simulation --- But neither the No.2 of my flight Nor the leader got it!?
theOden Posted November 2, 2023 Posted November 2, 2023 It sure looks like you've done it as supposed to. Can you check the relevant DynMisABC.ini in your "\1C SoftClub\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover" folder if the aircraft set (AC lines) for that staffel got the skin listed?

greybeard_52 Posted November 17, 2023 Author Posted November 17, 2023 I'm glad to say that, after a complete cleaning (because I had messed up too much) and reinstall of all stuff related to TheOden's DCG, I got hakenkreuz on all Bf 110C-6 of my flight! 1
1CGS LukeFF Posted November 19, 2023 1CGS Posted November 19, 2023 Guys, if you're going to post images with swastikas in them, they either need to go behind the spoiler tag or they need to be more thoroughly blurred out. Posting a smiley face over them is not sufficient.
Trooper117 Posted December 15, 2023 Posted December 15, 2023 All that is being shown there is the four straight edges of the swastika, the same edges that are on all the official skins in the game... if this isn't allowed please tell the devs their official skins need to be removed or completely covered... that's only fair is it not? 1 1 1

There are no such skins in the official version of the game. You must be referring to a different game. This is the Cliffs of Dover Blitz / Tobruk forum section. The original game did not have any skins with 'four straight edge' tail markings. I myself made 98 percent of the skins added for the Blitz and Tobruk releases (that includes the default skins too)! I didn't make any such skins. The game doesn't add these markings either. So there are no official skins with those markings. Edited December 16, 2023 by major_setback
Trooper117 Posted December 16, 2023 Posted December 16, 2023 Luke, as part of the GB set up is having a go in this (Cliffs of Dover) thread for incorrect display of the swastika... of course I was aware that the images are of CloD aircraft. I should have made it clear perhaps that I was referring to the official skins of GB not CloD that have similar markings for the swastika, and if objections are being made because of the images above, maybe the official skins need to be removed also (for GB)... sorry for the mix up... 1

MS.... you know what Trooper is referring to ?, as the pers in question has mainly resided over at GB hence why it was addressed to him and the standards of fairness. And we're all well aware of the evolution of the 'Hakenkreuz' in CLoD, and your official skins.

I don't visit the GB forum section, and nor do I know anything at all about that game, or that forum, or any of that forum's users. The answer I gave was concerning markings on our aircraft, as the post is in the Cliffs forum section. I have no other intention. Edited December 17, 2023 by major_setback
Mysticpuma Posted December 17, 2023 Posted December 17, 2023 Shame the mod that TF released to enable historically accurate markings no longer works (after they became official). I honestly don't understand why this can't be made available to players to decide if they want to play with authentic markings? I get they aren't allowed to sell due to regional issues, but why they can't release an historic markings enabler.... No idea. 3
FurphyForum Posted December 18, 2023 Posted December 18, 2023 Yep, I know the one you're talking about MP, I still have it, along with Load-out App Ver 2.2 and RAF Load-out Manager. 1 1

Hi @Mysticpuma, perhaps you can find the answer with the following experiment. Go into town and buy yourself 99 balloons, preferably white ones. Inflate them, then paint authentic insignias in red and black, just like the ones found on German WWII bombers in British and American museums (So, no smileys). Then go to the Bromsgrove School playground and release the balloons there. And have fun playing with authentic markings. 1

Well, I didn't realise that I had to sit in the school playground and play CloD in front of the pupils? Explain to me the analogy in terms of myself, sitting at a computer, playing a game, alone and enjoying the historically accurate experience... just like the ones found in British and American museums and historically accurate films.... 2

Any enabler created by TF would be an official product... which would need to be approved by FULQRUM. And FULQRUM would never approve anything which broke any laws in the EU. Players are free to create their own enabler... they don't need access to the code to do this... but TF will not officially create one. 1 1
FurphyForum Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 @Buzzsaw OK over where this thread started, ATAG_Bliss opened the thread and ATAG_Colander is the programmer and Keller is the skinner for 'Hakenkreuz Enabler', So is; 1. ATAG_Colander/Keller able/willing to update the 'Hakenkreuz Enabler' app, 2. Is he/ they part of TF and therefore unable to, as an MBR/s of the team and an official product, and 3. If he/ they can't, would he/ they be willing to relinquish the app and let other non-TF modders update the work? Obviously, if they are still around. 1
II./JG27_Rich Posted February 19 Posted February 19 (edited) If you want a tip just cut up one off of a BOX skin and make your own. Cut and paste here and there and you can make a full one in minutes. Or colour the whole thing over. Every single stock Cliffs of Dover skin I have is made that way that have Swastikas on them. You can't post them up anywhere of course unless you have a warning. I think they should be all on or all off I don't get this half on thing I think it's idiotic. People know what it 1/2 ls Swastika warning example Spoiler https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/50536038797_6d520c0bf1_b.jpg Edited February 19 by II./JG27_Rich
