Mission Failure? Really?

Recommended Posts

(I apologize in advance if this has been reported before.)

Battle of Moscow career flying escort for six BF109E ground attackers.  One BF109E is shot down by enemy aircraft = mission failure.

Battle of Moscow career flying escort for six BF110E ground attackers.  One BF110E shot down by enemy aircraft does not result in mission failure.

Why the difference?  This happens all the time.  In both cases, all enemy attackers were shot down and the ground attack resulted in lots of destroyed targets.  Shouldn't they both have the same result?

Did you stay in the mission until the attackers were back at their base?

Guys, a couple of notes/questions from the team about this:

  • What was the difficulty setting?
  • They were shot down by whom? by AAA? or by enemy fighters? cause mission task - is to protect the group against enemy fighters, so in case if they were shot down by AAA - it doesn't depend on player duty, but in case there were enemy fighters near (closer than 2,5km) and someone from your covered flight gets downed - its counted into failure counter, if there was none of the enemy planes around - then not

@LukeFF Sorry for the late response.  In my experience, with a flight of 6 BF109E attackers, if one gets shot down by an enemy aircraft, I get a mission failed every time.  With every other type of aircraft (BF110, JU 88, HE 111) it usually takes at least a third of the flight to cause a fail.

Okay, thanks.
