Clarity on Visual Update

When TFS have a moment, could @Buzzsaw or @Riley please confirm if the plan is for the Visual Update to still be released independently to TF6 and prior to the H2 2024 ETA for Fw & Fortresses? The announcement kinda points to it now forming part of the new DLC?

My understanding is still that these visual features will be in place for the new DLC rather than being part of it. The announcement didn’t change that assumption when I read it.

I agree a clarification would be apreciated given a TFM member's comments in replying to Mysticpuma elsewhere. Even if it confirm what only what plan a and plan b is. 

 

For me its only really eye candy as Im not playing VR but for others, its release potentially creates a base of regualr players on line and off that the title would really benefit from. 

 

The times TFS have come forth and provided situation reports are few but, on each occasion, they have been well recieved and maintained interest. When things go quiet the speculation and negativity starts. 

 

Such announcments need not be too regular but d say now is a decent time for one.

BUT it can't be Q2 for release in 2024, the video clearly states Q3 or Q4?

We plan to release the Visual Update as soon as all bugs or issues with implementing VR and the other new program elements are resolved.

Thank you for clarifying that was still the plan. The wording in the announcement made me doubt that it was. Good to hear.

Given the TF6.0 announcement includes aspects of the Visual Update I would say not!

 

Arguably adding new content is easier to plan than core updates which have elements of pioneering work of unknown amounts of work and issues to overcome but I think it is pretty clear the intention is to complete the visual update in parallel with and prior to the new content (TF6)

yeah make sense. Even tho, if this is a case, I hope al bugs will be solved prior TF6 release. Since VU has been delayed for almost two years now because of that I imagine they have good reason to think those will be solved before TF6.
