So as assumed silence was related to the new ownership. But looks like the new owners are supportive.

This will be a bit of a puzzle for those new to this forum, but for those who are veterans, no surprise... since the aircraft this engine will power has been known as being a part of the TF 6.0 release for several years.

One does wonder why none, or part, of that could be said previously.

I have posted the update on the Cliffs of Dover FB page and once player has asked the following:

"This is good news

But please can someone tell me how to join be beta vr test ? I've asked so many times now. I have tried messaging Buzzsaw several times but not had any replies. Thanks"

I wonder if Buzzsaw can supply an answer?

They didn't answer earlier because they didn't know what was going to happen until now, only now was the decision made.

Good to know that TFS is still at it. Of course I am impatient for the next patch with all of the new improvements, but I would rather wait until TFS thinks it is ready to release in the best possible condition rather than rush the release because of my impatience. Keep up the good work TFS!

The idea would be that these folks promised access want to be on-boarded before the next test round starts. Is there a mechanism in place to accomplish that?

Pretty much all of it had been. We were only missing some hopes and dreams.

The additional detail of digicert is all well and good and the transparency is welcomed, but I'm not sure it really answers any of the questions that have been raised. The new TrueSky images are lovely, but don't show much of the VR issues they're allegedly fighting, nothing of the speedtree implementation etc.

I am heartened that the new owners are supportive, and devolving responsibilites to TFS. Hopefully this will lead to more forthcoming and frequent communication.

Good news I would say, updates and TF6.0 are on their way. But TF clearly missing support with new ownership. With the new situation you might ask if 100% ownership going to TF would be an option, for that we need one rich TF member I guess. I do not know if TF get financial support from Fulqrum or if they contribute in another way.

Good news & bad news. Good that new owners are supportive of continuing this game. Bad news is this does not excuse the lack of communication about the game's continued development. For years we have only heard about expected releases at any moment which have yet to happen. Still no realistic timeline or idea of what to expect for the future.

Some sort of road map for announcement of V6 and some sort of road map for end of VR/Truesky/graphics update beta (as they will still have to test Release Candidate 1/2/3 etc before it goes Gold), would be useful.

Currently we are left with "work continues, no idea when we will finish, just keep hanging on, cross your fingers and we'll be in touch when we start getting bugged by the last remaining hangers on".

To see how enthusiastic and present the community are, count the amount of replies to this thread, the screenshot of VR in action thread in Screenshots and then pop over to the ATAG forum and see how many replies they have over there.

Simply put, more information,  progress, timelines, roadmap and communication are required because currently anyone outside these two forums most likely thinks CloD passed away years ago.

"...All of the above discussions have been complicated by both the departure of Jason Williams, who was TF's main liaison and the gatekeeper for all our efforts and PR, and who continued in this role for a period under Fulqrum before leaving, and his replacement by Fulqrum staff, which has seen quite a few new faces appear in the partnership role... sometimes for a short while before being replaced by others.  This has required restarting the process twice, and unsurprisingly, lengthened the discussion period needed to determine what if any, potential changes in the relationship of TF and its Publisher might be useful..."

The quote above describes a relationship that remains in flux. Nothing in the update suggests that the Visual Update is any closer to becoming available to customers. Each change in intermediaries could further retard release of the update. As a reality check, the "announcements" seem yet to be made so it appears there is no agreement relative to the post below.

Blah, Blah, Blah! With all of the flight simming goodness going on at present don't you guys have something to be flying right now? Here is the roadmap. TFS works hard to test the new patch with the help of the Beta Testers and continues to work diligently on making corrections as they go along until it is a release candidate. Then they will work even harder testing it some more internally until they are satisfied it is ready to be a full fledged release version. Next they will release the patch and some will love it, some will hate it and some just won't give a damn. One thing for sure though is that, as soon as that release happens, the same old peeps here will be moaning about 6.0 and not getting enough PR. Be sure of it! Hope this helps clear things up for those not seeing the big picture concerning the next big patch. Can't wait!:clapping:

Go TFS!

Maybe what we just saw were "several announcements" from TFS...

Not quite what we may have been waiting for.

Yeah, so quit discussing it.

I just wish I had the opportunity to either hate it or love it.

Okay, 2-years on....what more do we know?

We have experienced an impact of the new drill sergeant. TFS has experienced a leash pull that caused it to go dark for a time in order to respond.

You do. When it is released. Don't be a whiner.

Customer' requests are reflexively characterized as "whining". Why can't customers follow the TFS example instead ?

The news were welcome. Screenshots were also very nice, a clear difference to the "old". Best of luck and smooth sails to finishing VU+VR to TFS.

Team Fusion continues to make great progress towards completing the Visual Update as well as TF 6.0, our next DLC.  We are also working on other DLC's in the development schedule.

Glad to know that progress on TF 6.0 and future installments are being worked on (probably preliminary things and stuff that will take longer to make for the latter).

@BuzzsawAny ETA on when the Visual Update and the announcement of content for TF 6.0 will happen? Just a rough estimate is fine.

Thank you

I agree that it is getting around time to have another update - even if it says there is no ETA... or a rough estimate of something vague and distant ('September if all goes well')?

I'm alright with there being uncertainty and vagueness - I just want that uncertainty and vagueness to be official.

I'm not fussed... when they have something worth showing we'll see it.

I have so much going on with other sims and games at the moment, I have more than enough to keep me busy without fretting about when or what TF are doing.

Sadly 2.13 is not playable on Windows 10 or 11, and the "Windows 10 patch" is simply a bit crap in comparison :(
