Are we going to see any update to the FC AI with the next update?

Nothing's been mentioned about reworking the ai as far as I can recall but perhaps they'll surprise us!

I think they may have bigger fish to fry than updating the AI for WWI...

They majority income came from single players type, to them AI is most important. It should be quiet big fish IMHO.

I'd like to hunt Li2 bombers by night with a 110G2 (maybe over Kuban)

Would this be historical ?

Posted

Li-2's were certainly used as night bombers in Kuban... don't know if it was the version GB is getting though.

Yes, it would be historical. Li-2 night bombers were used to attack targets in the Kerch Strait region. The night bomber types reported most frequently by 10.(NJ)/ZG 1 during missions in this area were DB-3s/IL-4s or Li-2s.

Yes, I think I had heard it from you, thoigh I thought the 110s were only harrassing night transport (in your campaign from memory)

No plan or plane.

No, there is only one mission in my campaign in which transport aircraft dropping supplies over the Mychako bridgehead are intercepted. In the rest of the missions level bombers, U-2s or Sturmoviks are the targets. Once the Li-2 is released, I will add it to the campaign missions, both as transport and as bomber.

Is there any chance of getting an accessible co-pilot position for the Li-2? It doesn't even need to be functional. I do a lot of co-op, and the inability to put anyone there to ride along has been my big disappointments with the C-47, Ju 52, and (especially) Mosquito.

The official response is:  No such plans at the moment.

Can developers provide an estimate on the size of the download that's ahead of us? My SSD is almost full...

Approx. 72 GB

No!  Surely not?

Is a decimal point missing there somewhere?   ?

Will the FC AI be improved to make the career enjoyable?

Posted (edited)

Well, there's a say about making room for a pony .... with the current pony i already have 136 GB(P?), that would be over 251 Aussie dollars even.

There has been silence from the devs or their conduits so I presume not. But who knows? Someone does.

No response from Wardog about the update size (78GB), so I'm assuming that is the correct figure...which would be unheard of compared to any previous updates.

The new revised map will be a few GB, and the career mode being extended to WW1 some more, plus there's the new Spit. But don't see that going much over 10GB tops.

So what else? Has there been some deep work going on in the engine they haven't told us about?

I think he meant  directory size after the update.

Ok - you're probably right actually, but the OP asks about the download size for the update, so wires crossed somewhere.

Posted

I'll check with the team again to see what the download size is for just the update.

Just got this back:
the update itself is not very big (maybe around 20 GB), but it's anyways better to keep 30-40 GB of free space on the disc for the game to repack itself with the updated files.

Many thanks for the clarification ?

Still pretty big. Looking forward to it.

Thanks @Wardog5711 , I thought I might hit my storage capacity limit with this one.  I'll move the game over to a regular HDD that's almost empty.

In the old days of shop sales they couldn't have fit that on a 6.5 G disc set so easy, one was amazed and impressed to get a dual disc install.  Guess 'Not very big' is a relative term, so its pretty dang big to me.

I don't know how the bubble top Spit will fly, but it sure is sexy to look at.

Very nicely. ? Just remember one thing about its engine controls: prop pitch lever full back = interconnected prop and throttle controls; prop lever full forward = max prop rpm.

Bubble top Spit is one of the best looking WW2 planes period. Excited to do some photo recon with it in one of those light blue paint jobs.
