StormingThunderhead Posted March 6, 2023 Posted March 6, 2023 (edited) The first video of a new series aimed at breaking down multiplayer fights in IL-2 Great Battles. This series should help give a better understanding of BFM, energy management, knife fights, and just about anything that has to do with air combat. Hopefully this series will help you in analysing your own fights (it's certainly helped me). This episode will be a break-down of 6 online multiplayer fights in the Spitfire Mk. Vb. Headtracking: Opentrack aruco paper tracker Controller: Thrustmaster Warthog with additional Logitech throttle quadrants and Logitech Pro Flight Rudder Pedals The links I promised: Requiem's BFM series, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zbyGOd6NwME&list=PLnyigzFtHeNr9zTkpxyD0ksFD3CwLa2UE&index=1&t=0s - Greg's video, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cjZUF6sbUVI&t=0s. Episode 1: Episode 2: This episode will be covering two sorties in the P-47 D-22. They started off as ground attack missions but quickly escalated to frantic dogfights. The third and last episode of Dogfight Investigations Volume 1. This episode will cover two sorties in the P-51 B-5. Edited March 18, 2023 by StormingThunderhead 1
Guest deleted@50488 Posted March 6, 2023 Posted March 6, 2023 Excellent idea! Thank you for sharing!!!
Japsai Posted March 7, 2023 Posted March 7, 2023 Superb video @StormingThunderhead. Do you fly as part of a squad which regular practices dogfighting within the group? I am really keen to find a squad that does. 1
JimTM Posted March 7, 2023 Posted March 7, 2023 Very nice StormingThunderhead. I noticed that the Requiem and Greg's links you mentioned are not in the description. 1
StormingThunderhead Posted March 9, 2023 Author Posted March 9, 2023 Thank you all for the positive feedback. I have been very busy the last couple of days, which is why I am only now able to respond to your comments. @Player_39854 Thank you for your comment, and, no, sadly I do not fly with a particular squadron but random people on the Finnish Virtual Pilots Discord. I'm afraid I don't really know which squadrons are good and which ones do regular practice sessions. @JimTM Thank you, and, yes, the links were not in the description as promised; however, yesterday I did put them in the description. Sorry for the inconvenience. 1
StormingThunderhead Posted March 18, 2023 Author Posted March 18, 2023 I've now finished this video series of Dogfight Investigations Volume 1 ! This took a lot of work! Hope you all enjoy!
