Azdack Posted January 31, 2023 Posted January 31, 2023 Hello For unknown reasons my Il2 BOS mission editor opens but the cursor stucks after two seconds. And the editor doesn't open anymore. Been looking for solutions on the web and some answers advise to reinstall the game. Which files and folders do I have to save before unanstalling the game ? I bought my game from Il2Bos site, not from Steam. Which is the was to uninstall and reinstall ? Thanks for answers.
CountZero Posted January 31, 2023 Posted January 31, 2023 (edited) Before reinstaling game did you try reset comand for mission editor, that usealy help when mission editor get buged out. Its in your "C:\IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles\bin\editor" folder and its caled "ResetEditorSettings.cmd" run it and then try to open "STEditor.exe" in same folder. Regarding files to save, i would copy "startup.cfg" file that have graphic and other settings for game, and "input" folder that have my keybineds, both are in your "data" folder in main game folder. You can also copy folders with your costum missions if you have some or mods and so on... To uninstall game you can click on "unins000.exe" in your main game folder or do it like with other programs from your PC settings in add remove programs, to reinstall you open your profile on main game web site where you buy stuff (not forum) https://il2sturmovik.com/download/ and go on download and download game installer. Azdack Posted February 2, 2023 Author Posted February 2, 2023 Unfortunately not. I had to make copies of files and folders you've advised followed by a game uninstall and reinstall. By the way I had the surprise to see that by default windows choosed to make the new install in Program File and not in Programmes(x86)...What is the difference? Thanks for your help
CountZero Posted February 2, 2023 Posted February 2, 2023 ok i tought you avoided reinstall, it just recognised it as 64bit program and instaled it in Program Files by default, i think it dosent mather in what folder it is.
