Hello guys! Like I said in the video, I am grateful to be of help! The C-47 "Skytrain" is such a beautiful aircraft and had a really important role during WW2. I'm glad we can enjoy it in Great Battle Series.

Thanks to the team for such wonderful job, and also the new StuG and FC Map!

Kind regards,

10 years since the release of Battle of Stalingrad we get my dream plane: the C47!

I am so happy for the diverse gameplay this sim is offering. Now the Ju52 has his counterpart!

Fantastic job!

Great work.

Love the C-47.

The Arras map looks very nice.

Have a nice day.

From the C-47 pilot notes:

Excellent feature, will we see this back-ported to other aircraft with this style of fuel indicator that rotated automatically before?

Many thanks for the update. Thanks for fixing the blinking HUD when in Tank Commander.

Nice to see the C-47 copilot position accessible - and really neat that you extended it to the Ju-52 as well!! Any word on the Lisunov Li-2?

As for the Flying Circus Vol.2 map... it has a lot of interesting landmarks - but the urban road situation (with grass instead of sidewalks) really needs to be addressed. It was permissible in Rhineland, but in WWI pilots are often flying low and slow - so the urban tileset really matters. IMHO, the Arras map (from Vol.1) has better looking urban streets. I also suspect that the craters could be improved quite a bit.

Anyway, looking forward to exploring - and hoping the AQMB has waypoints laid out so that the flight times are short (~10 minutes to target with air-start) in spite of the lower speed of the WWI aircraft compare to WWII (which is what the AQMB was designed around).

Agreed - it's a really nice feature that's sorely needed in a lot of other planes on both sides.

The C-47-love it, but I'm not sure if I'm the only one but the Skins seem to be very mixed  bag in preview screens- lie tey are at a 90degree angle to be where they should be. Also wondered if there is no way to change position with the nicely modeled co-pilot?

Thanks again for the Gooney!

This is mint gents! I will be picking C47 for sure. Thanks for everything you all are doing.

Thank you for list of 53 other changes, but why are all of those more important than the basic delete outer canon, blown canopy option for the FW190A-8 that was left out since the release of Bodenplatte? Just curious. Maybe it was #54 on list and just couldn't make it in this update.

I'm glad to see as it is no doubt very important that the IL-2 mod. 1943: formation lights won't visually double at a distance...and the Churchill IV gunfire sound was replaced by a more suitable one...and Ferdinand gunner station now has a mirror for the bubble level indicator...and the death animation of the A-20 top gunner has been corrected...and thank you that Yak-9 and Yak-9T got it's corrected the appearance of extended landing gear warning lights...and also that U-2VS: a missing rocket on the left wing was added to ammo variants #20 and #29.

Just curious do you plan to ever spend time on these omissions for FW190A-8 since release of Bodenplatte years ago or that FW190 can't reach it's maximum roll rate since it was released? Simply would like to know: #54 on list? #1,054 on list. Or, not on list at all and never will be?

Thanks.

Well, they'd be different team members.

IMHO, doing some kind-of anniversary edition upgrade (allowing us to put more money into existing modules) as a means of funding map fixes, field-mods/updates for existing aircraft and one or two new aircraft per theatre might work... much as they are doing with the new expanded edition of Tank Crew. That would help fund those kinds of updates. It is hard to be too demanding when the upgrades will all be for free though (which they tend to b at the moment) :)

Just move your head to the right (as if you were leaning in a normal cockpit)... you can now switch seats (in the Ju-52 as well).

Great question, followup - If not, will there be a way for pre-order owners of Tank Crew to upgrade to the Premium Edition (currently the price difference in my region is less than $10).

Quick edit: Great update, having a flyable C47 in game is a big deal (been flying the hell out of the DC3 in a less violent flight sim in anticipation), keep the content coming!

I cannot find the object templates of the new Western Front map (i.e. the data\Templates\xxxx.Group files), not even in a quick search through the .gtp files. Am I missing something, or is the update missing something?

just did a drop with the C47... wow... i love it... its like living the flight sim dream of Band of Brothers vs say an FPS shooter.

awesome job on this. I actually did my best landing ever with it just now... now idea why... maybe it's just excitement lol

Where did you find the template .group files?

First of all, the Stug really looks very good and I cannot wait to take it out for a spin on the server.

But I have a question: The Stug's commanders cupola should be rotatable, is there a special key binding for it, which I did miss?

Don't forget the bomber airfields on the new map @SYN_Vander

Yes, there is lots more. Also note the very detailed train stations everywhere and we now have (destroyed) villages in no-man’s land where it used to be empty.

The second one is the Western Front 1918 map created for Flying Circus Vol. 2. At this time the flyable zone corresponds to the Rise of Flight map while the buildings and objects are placed in the two most important zones as it was planned for FC Vol.2: Amiens - Lille - Saint Quentin (North-West) and Thionville - Saint Dizier - Nancy (South-East). Both WWI maps, Arras and the new Western Front one are available to owners of either Flying Circus Vol.1 and Vol.2 as we have promised during the project announcement.

If I'm reading this right, FC1 Owners should have access to the new Western Front map aswell? I'm not seeing it in QMB, just Arras

With the new patch i'm getting kicked offline in multiplayer continuously .

Other Changes
11. The target distribution in AI aircraft groups has been adjusted. Priority targets like anti-aircraft guns are engaged by one to four planes in the group depending on the leader's AI level, other wingmen will choose other targets;

Can we get a clarification on how exactly this works?

I feel like this is what @Han was referring to in my other thread when he said he had an idea.

Same as the smoke mortar in the Churchil. One uses the '1' key on the keyboard. The '2" key might also have a function.

Within QMB, the map is listed as “Western Front 1918”
