Hope it helps !
453=Yarra Posted September 16, 2022 Posted September 16, 2022 Go to quick missions, select Normandy, click on one of the England airfields (it has a RAF Roundel to show it is a quick mission builder), select Intercept V1 and select Weakest waves. Make sure under custom you have ID markers selected - spotting the V1s is tough! Weakest means there might be one 109 or none, but there will be three V1s (eventually). Start the mission. Get out of auto level. Select auto pilot. Speed up to 8 x (press the "]" key four or five times). When a message comes up saying that V1s are on the map, slow back to normal time by pressing "[" four or five times. Check the map, or press left ctrl F2 to toggle through enemy aircraft. It should show you the V1s in flight, and give you an idea of their position. You will also see them on the map. Good luck! They are very difficult to catch - you have to be above them and dive on them, which basically gives you one pass. 1

May I add that the Tempest, with 50% fuel and guns only, seems the best killer choice ? (think also historically true ? ) Another difficulty is to find the Nest ..."NOBALLS" , I didn't yet manage to see one ( in solo QM ) ? It'd be great if they figure in target list as they were top priority in 1944 !
Bonnot Posted September 23, 2022 Posted September 23, 2022 Destroying the nest.... hard to find it , depending on weather, light, hour ( sun/shadows)... Unfortunately, this anonymus hero was KIA just taking n°2....
DD_Friar Posted September 28, 2022 Posted September 28, 2022 (edited) I created the attached mission using the logic devised by @Habu @jollyjack. I added a timer to make it loop indefinitely. You have a choice of Spitfire IX, XIV, Typhoon, Tempest and Mossie. Taking off from Manston the V1's start heading for Canterbury about every minute or so. No 109's to distract you. If you want to watch them take off, hit Camera to Enemy Aircraft (default Left Ctrl+F12) once for a view of Canterbury, a second time to be placed inside the control bunker at the launch site. A siren will sound for 30 seconds at the airfield as each rocket is being prepared for launch. Edit: Forgot to say this a multiplayer dogfight map mission, although you could host it on your own machine. V1 Intercept.zip Edited September 28, 2022 by DD_Friar 2
PD-1943 Posted October 4, 2022 Posted October 4, 2022 Thank-you so very very muchas I just could not get this to work on my own.....This was very much appreciated!!!!
jollyjack Posted October 4, 2022 Posted October 4, 2022 Adapted the V1_intercept mission above for Single Play. Darn, it's top sport as these buggers are too fast, the player Spit XiV at 600 km/h won't catch up with one ... V1 Intercept_DD_Friar_SP.zip 1

Baron210 Posted October 9, 2022 Posted October 9, 2022 Thanks Mightily, although I havent yet purchased the Normany Map so my stock V1_intercept mission would not show or load. I found if I cunningly opened the V1 mission, from Normandy map, copied / pasted into a mission I generated wtih Easy Mission Generator, the in full mission editor for a Rhineland map, it loads up perfectly. In a not very realistic scenario, I have my German ME262's being attacked by British V1's on take off, its pretty impressive. thank's for giving us this, I'm not very good with Mission objects (creating target attack points) etc.
Billsponge1972 Posted March 28, 2023 Posted March 28, 2023 Maybe someone's done this before but here's a V1 mission flying lead in a two tempest flight to destroy a V1 launcher. It's a pretty short trip and there's a V1 launching as you approach. The main objective is the launcher itself but if you time it right you can drop your bombs on the launcher and do a 180 to shoot down the V1 as it's moving pretty slowly so soon after launch. I always love the action happening in front of me so I just linked the V1 launch to the waypoint of the player. It's a mostly empty map except for a couple fw190d9s that will intercept you at some point unless you get in and out quickly. I'm pretty new to the mission making thing but the meat of the mission is there and I thought I'd share it. https://www.mediafire.com/file/zyt0o52746s4hhl/Low+level+strike+on+V1+site+south+of+Antwerp+(Tempest).zip/file
ThePops Posted April 29, 2023 Posted April 29, 2023 Hello What's the secret of making this V1s launch from the launcher? I have tried a few times, but the V1s themselves never appear on the launcer.
ThePops Posted April 29, 2023 Posted April 29, 2023 Never mind, figured it out ? Had to disable, then and insert a 2 second timer for enabling. Probably to make sure the launcher is there before the V1 spawns.
