BOO Posted September 5, 2022 Posted September 5, 2022 Does anyone have this mission that they could share? Its the one where a player spawns in with 17 or so aircraft at differing distances. WAs a nice mission to refine the monitor settings. Its quite an old mission. It used to be posted under the ATAG thread "Men who stare at pixels" Thanks in advance

If you look at the home page ( www.team-fusion-simulations.de ) and you click on the forum link... you'll easily get the response to your below quoted question: 5 minutes ago, BOO said: Is this going to take over from the ATAG downloads section? As you see, BOO, the ATAG forum acts as the official forum for TFS. The TFS guys started 10 years ago at the ATAG forum (10 or more), now they are a company I don't think they'll create a separate forum. 1

The TFS guys started 10 years ago at the ATAG forum (10 or more), now they are a company I don't think they'll create a separate forum. Heres the thing - Its an IL2 1c Game and branded as such. ATAG is a squad not TFS despite TFS quietly taking over the forum moderation and running of the servers and the "official TFS" site isnt widely publised. Google "Team Fusion Simulations" and the website doesnt even appear within the first FIVE pages. Hit "Forum" if you do find it and you end up at ATAG with no IL2 branding and no mention of the game or TFS not in the pages header and not even in the page bar - it looks for all the world like a malicious redirection. - all very confusing for a newcomer. Moreover, there is no obvious way to get back to that "black ops" main TFS page. Back in 2014 when I came back to simming ATAG was the location to obtain the TF patches etc but thats before 1c made TFS "official". As such, this should now be the preferred forum as, lets face it, its now back to being a current 1c game and its advertised as such in the store. Why then would anyone coming fresh to the game even know about ATAG? Why would anyone expect a vastly differenct experience to IL2 Blitz from a GB title when they clicked on "forum"? Why would anyone even know TFS are running 2 forums in two different locations given the seemingly committed presence here? And why would anyone suspect that a forum not carrying the TFS or IL2 GB branding but ATAG is the "official" one? Do we need to seek out 777's companys own webpage to find stuff out about GB? Additionally there are many banned from ATAG who cannot participate there. That may suit some, but as recently said "boring as bat...". That aside, given that 1c forum does support "offical" downloads but not "unoffical" ones (who have to host their own), it would make sense for those TFS approved and TFS produced missions and files, to be hosted here - y'know - where a new customer would kinda expect them to be or, better still, be a core feature of the game resultant from regular updates as opposed to mega patches that take years to come to fruition. For the others - clear direction to one place or the other. Consistency. As it stands its a bit of a mish-mash. Information can be in one of 5 places (here, ATAG, TFS website, Twitter or Facebook). And before Im labelled as a TFS or ATAG knocker, Ive no axe to grind, especially not with ATAG for whom I hold a lot of gratitude for help and ecouragement given to me at the start. Im only pointing out the experience of one coming back to the game after perhaps 3 years. Not a noob, not someone unfamilar with the term "its CloD" and not someone unfamiliar with where to look for stuff. CloD is often hammered for not being very user friendly. TFS have done a lot to improve that but its still far from coherent. Edited September 5, 2022 by BOO
Team Fusion FG28Artist Posted September 5, 2022 Team Fusion Posted September 5, 2022 www.team-fusion-simulations.de is not the official website: Look at it, it's empty ? Team Fusion Simulations - Resources is simply a collection of resources related to CloD we maintain for easy access and permalinking. Nothing more, nothing less. It's outside of every other site, forum, platform, etc. only for convenience (no login, membership, etc.). We have not the time to activly SEO it. We mention it whenever there's a need (e.g. with a recent version of Contact Spotting like here). We also include links to other, related resources (after having asked permission, sometimes possibly linking into another forum or site) there. 2

Hello Artist - It might be an idea to put a link to it up on the header of the ATAG main page in an addition to Sticky thread link to it here. There's some good stuff on it. Stuff that would be good to have by default. Looking at the downloads page of the ATAG site its not very well used which is a shame. Stuff I posted 6 years ago is still on the first page of a lot of sub threads. From the time I was a regular on ATAG I recall few knew about it. Id imagine al ot of those utilities may no longer work as intended too. I get the life v time thing. I talked to Pattel about his work/life/TFS balance and, well, I couldnt manage it, so I do understand that time is limited and not everything can be a priority. Thanks for the link and thanks @343KKT_Kintaro for asking in the ATAG forum. 2
No.54_Reddog Posted September 5, 2022 Posted September 5, 2022 The "what is posted where" and where is the "official" site has been knocking around for some time since the switch to make TFS's work legitimate and move away from hacking. That resources site is really useful, @FG28Artist nice one. If you have opportunity could you possibly expand the server admin section on banning with a worked example of what the banlist.txt looks like, and also whether you can pre-empt the ban by entering into the txt before the player joins the server. This would answer many of the questions I have never managed to figure out with something SoW had problems with in the past.
343KKT_Kintaro Posted September 5, 2022 Posted September 5, 2022 Ok Artist, thank you for the clarification.
