A little game...

Recommended Posts

Posted

So, we all know now, the release of the Normandy Map will take another two weeks or so. But waiting is hard, isn´t it?

How about playing a small game in order to pass the time more quickly, ok?

It is straight forward: We are looking for a song title from the 80ies. As an extra bit of help I´ll post a picture. The picture might be related to the song somehow. It should give you ideas and help you solving the puzzle. If you think you guessed it, just post title and band name in this thread. Do that and win a price not exactly useless in IL2GB, assumingly. I´ve been told, it drops tears or spits fire... ?

HOW ABOUT THAT???

Here is your picture:

game.thumb.jpg.61acdc662417502c325f08f565658126.jpg

First hint: No, the price isn´t a T-72, sorry.

Second hint: We´re looking for something German...

I´ll check the thread daily to look at the progress. If necessary, I´ll drop more hints. @Bremspropeller will look at it too and will verify when somebody guessed correctly and solved the puzzle.

Have fun!

Hmm could be way off or could be a bullseye...

Fee - Brunswick band of the 80s, german cover version of Status Quo - You are in the Army now (1981)

1986 - Fee - Du musst zur Bundeswehr

Online here:

BTW. One of the favourite partysongs at that time was this one. Also by Fee. A real gem.

Not bad either, but it has got nothing to do with the Bundeswehr. ?

The picture yes but not the song title, unfortunately. But you´re on a good way (hint: east).?

Ahh too bad. Ok, 2nd try and I am off. 80s and vehicles (tanks) driving in full speed and that lyrics text of that song has now become reality...

"Und kost' Benzin auch drei Mark zehn: scheißegal, es wird schon geh'n!

Ich will Spass (Ich geb Gas), Markus, 1982

Too bad. Ok I´m off. You obviously have something in mind where you need to think 6 times around the corner. ? I will follow this one with curious interest. Great idea.

It is, but not what we´re looking for. Ten years early and not very German ?:drinks:

Used to be the 17/21st Lancers before so much of the British Army got amalgamated due to cut-backs

Bomber from Motörhead as symbol for combined armed forces including tanks?

And Lemmy wear a lot of German symbols…

But shit, it’s still the 70‘s…. ?

Given the T72s current "on tour" performance I did think Münchener Freiheit  Herz aus Glas

Or perhaps

Boney Ms cover of My Cherie A(r)mour

But in the end, and getting dangerously close to accidentally playing "Wind of Change"  I settled on buying the spitfire and giving up!

"Panzer Battalion" from  Sabaton. I now it is not german but I think he may have it sang in german. Anyway it is the one that for me is really the best connection to the picture.

Cool track! Not the right song, but... Berlin is correct, the year almost (album came out in 86, single was in the "charts" in 87).

Wrong band by a decade, wrong song by 2 decades

Methinks we need to see if @ROCKET_KNUT has ever posted in the "what do you listen to " thread to gain an insight.......

Don´t give up! Oh, that´s a song too... ?

I just noticed, the thread has been moved from "General Discussion" to "Free Subject".

That´s a first for a give away if I´m not wrong. Must have some fans somewhere...

Anyway, where were we?

A band from East-Berlin (obviously) with a song in German from 1986/87, which is somehow related to the picture in the first post, you´ll need to think around one corner only to win one Spit XIV with a Teardrop Canopy for IL2GB. I hope you have as much fun as me. And, one day has passed already. Thank you all for taking part.
