                                                                                      A Random Works Campaign

Fly alongside this iconic Normandie-Neiman squadron in an Eight mission non-historical campaign which offers the player an immersive experience in the Yak-1B and Yak-9T as multi-role fighters within the European Theater of Operations during winter 1943 through the autumn of 1944. Utilizing the Moscow Map to represent the squadrons advance through Poland culminating with air battles above the Neiman River. The missions, which include taxi, take-offs and formups along with airstarts can run anywhere from 15 to 40 minutes depending upon players actions.

Both Pat Cartiers Yak-1B along with Maillon21s Yak-9 and Yak-9T skin packs are used and included within the Download to be installed to your Data>graphics>skins>Yak1s127, Yak9s1 and Yak9Ts1 Folders for the Campaign to make sense.

Additionally the Campaign installs and uses a French .wav speech pack from Il2 "Forgotten Battles" converted to .mp3 files for audio orders and radio chatter.

*Please Mute Radio Receiver using Default (L-ALT - Keypad Minus) upon Mission start.

A ReadMe with installation instructions and credits and other pertinate information is also included with the Download.

One Drive Download Link:

https://1drv.ms/u/s!Am83M5MI8WLyjh3mzSmZ8edtOV7v?e=O8HL7I

To install for Campaign Play:
1) *Download the "Les Chevaliers du Normandie" Zip and extract the attached "data" folder to your C:\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad folder or wherever/whatever your PC is configured to play BoX.

Campaign requires the following IL-2 Great Battles Series module and collector planes to work:
IL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Moscow
Yak-1B s.127
Yak-9T s.1

Enjoy the Campaign,

I've been hoping for a Yak-9T campaign to come along for many months - it's one of my favourite birds to fly. Finally my prayers have been answered. You, sir, are a good man indeed. Many thanks for this!

Nice. Enjoy the campaign. The conversion from the Yak1-b to the Yak-9T makes for an interesting contrast.

*Additionally it's a good time for folks needing the Collectors aircraft and the Battle Moscow module. All are on sale now for the Summer Kick-off sales event.

You bet Falcon41.

There is of course much more to their experiences that I could ever put into the briefings.

Indeed, after research into the Normandie to create the campaign. Was introduced to a dynamic group of individuals finding a way to engage an enemy occupying their country. A story fraught with political intrigue, of self-sacrifices and resourcefulness while embroiled in the horrors of war. Of surprising opulence, debilitating depravity, crushing personal defeats and ultimate victory. Such was the legend of the Normandie-Neiman.

Tip,

I really liked how you developed these missions.  I’m a budding mission builder and would like to closely examine the ones you’ve constructed; however, when opening one of your missions a lot of the items appear to be hidden.  Is there some way of opening these items to see how their constructed and linked?

Btw, it should be chevaliers, not chavaliers as it shows in game, but this is a detail. Kudos for your work. I was hoping for such a campaign with NN.

Dang sure did. In the briefing title lines at that for both languages. Appreciate the heads up. Tree through the forest moment. Will correct and put up a revised version.

Might I ask if you played the campaign in English or French?

Yes I now mods, this is all in French, but there is a purpose for that so please don't transfer it to the French forum, if it still exists. I can translate all of this in English if you insist, haha.

A very good campaign! I really like all the detail on the ground. Firefights, frontlines, bunkers and all that makes the map come so much alive.  Wish all campaigns and career mission had the details like this. (I know its alot of job to do it) but it makes everything feel so much more real ?? thx for making this!

No need to translate. Enjoy the campaign.

I would suggest losing the russian voices by *Please Mute Radio Receiver using Default (L-ALT - Keypad Minus) upon Mission start.

Thanks for the input.

Hello, thanks for the campaign!!!! great topic, great implemented........ maybe the campaign developer dares to expand it extensively, I would be happy to fly a more extensive, larger Normandy Njeman campaign.

Still flying this gem, just wanted to give a light on the french speech pack.

When Tym and I scripted actors sentences, we varied a bit on what was given by Oleg's team.

Cef uses two different sentences to signal there is no ennemy around. The reason for this is those were used in 46 as an answer to player's request for help.

So 1st one is the classic "no ennemy around", "pas d'ennemi signalé",

2nd one is more of a fun twist "stop signalling ennemies that don't exist or you'll be disciplined", "arrêtez de signalez des ennemis fantômes ou ........."

The 2nd one, as used in your scenarii (auto ennemy report with no prior player request), doesn't fit as well as 1st one.

If you ever script a follow up to this campaign and didn't know yet, now you know ?

Einfach super!!!

Great, especially the last mission, reminds me of real air battles, well done. If you would like to fly a really long "Normandie Njeman" campaign, can you do something about that, or a much longer scripted campaign!!!!! Just great!!!

Appreciate the info on this PB0_Roll.

These were the two phrases and their translation as written within the pack I downloaded. Obviously, they have a different meaning. In retrospect they may have been used a bit too liberally in any event. I'll just remove them from the campaign.

actor5 normandie\clear_you_have_no_contact_with_the_enemy.mp3

actor6 normandie\are_you_sure_you_re_clear_there_are_no_bandits_in_your_area.mp3

Thanks for the heads up.

Thank you Superflyer. Not much can be done with lengthening the exploits of the Normandie_Neiman without a Bagration Map which would have to include Konigsburg and East Prussia. Not to mention the Yak-3.

I liked the last mission too.

Enjoy the Campaign,

Started playing your campaign. I've only completed one mission so far. Very atmospheric, although nothing is clear by ear. :) But I started translating the text into Russian for myself. Also for the first mission I changed skins to winter ones. Not for all the pilots, I found the relevant data on the aircraft, so I changed some (38->10, 33->33, 11->14, 2->16, 30->44, 23->5).

As the info.locales, mission briefings and HUD messages are only done in English, and French. You make a very good point in adding clarity for Russian players considering the nature of the campaign itself. An oversite on my part.

I'll add Russian via google translate for the locale, briefings and HUD messages for the next update.

Appreciate the input.

Thank you very much for being so efficient! I myself would have suffered much longer with Google. :)

By the way, as an option, I can recommend that those who will play this campaign use the green Moscow mod. IMHO, the summer version of the map will fit the time frame of the campaign.

No problem. Thanks for bringing this up to my attention. Agreed, as freeware the Google translator does mess with the briefing syntax at times. Just have to proof read, correct then change into the language to verify within the game.

Good call on the green Moscow mod.

Just finished this campaign and greatly enjoyed the experience. I particularly loved the French radio chatter (very atmospheric) and the Yak 9s were a delight. Thanks for all the effort putting this scripted campaign together, I appreciate the time and expertise that has gone into this campaign.
