If you start a career, in let's say Moscow 1941, and your pilot completes the campaign (something I've yet to manage), can you stay with him into another campaign, let's say Stalingrad? Or do you have to fresh start a new career?

Thanks.

You can continue from BoM to BoS to BoB and BoN to come.

You might have to change the unit, though. For example there is only one German fighter unit, which goes from Moscow to Kuban, while the other ones are only partially part of the battles.

One of the other long ones is I./KG 51 - from Stalingrad to Rhineland, Ju 88s, (soon) Me 410s, and then Me 262s. A little bit of everything on 4 different maps.

And how exactly can I do that? I have almost finished BoM (only two days remain) in a MiG-3 unit. I would like to "jump" in time and space to BoS, with my achievements intact. What should I do?

Thanks a lot in advance,

I started a career in KG51…lasted half of the first mission, hats off to anyone who can survive more than a few bomber missions ???

As I recall, a choice to continue is presented when you reach the end of a campaign. I've dragged my pilot from BOM to BOS to BOK and honestly it was so simple I don't remember how I did it.

You go to the headquarters map and look for units with green + right click and choose "join this unit". You can check the unit availability  by simulate starting a career on the map you wishes to continue on

Thanks a lot, #girafjesper, for your kind answer. My doubt is: if I am simulating to start a career, as you propose, the sim will consider me a new pilot, so, how can I tell to the sim that I want to be an already existing career pilot? I don't know if I can explain well muy doubt.

Thanks a lot to everybody for your patience and atention

@felixferjust complete your mig-3 Moscow campaign and IL2 will present you with a choice to continue, with your pilot and his stats from BOM, in to Stalingrad. You may have to transfer to a new squadron, which may fly different aircraft, but your pilot shall live on!  At least until he is shot down in flames on a subsequent mission! ?

Thanks to you all for your kind assistance these days, @kozmo514, @girafjesper, @Skycat1969. I finished my BoM career as soviet pilot and, in addition to my "Defense of Moscow" medal, I have found a new label in the career screen, lower right, on green: "Prolong". Shame on me, I have discovered now that this is perfectly explained and documented in the Operator's Manual v4.072, page 46. By clicking this button you are invited to join BoS, BoK, and, surprisingly, BoBP too. You can only choose one "time & space" jump. In may case, I shifted to BoS, and I was able to choose my plane and unit combination. I have started there with all my previous awards and records intact.

After BoS I will jump to BoK, so I am curious now: is there a real chance to a soviet pilot to jump into BoBP? Anyone has tried that? What kind of unit / enrolement could he perform in Rheinland?

Thanks again to everybody and best wishes.

No, it's a bug.

Thanks for yor answer, @LukeFF, but I think that it is a real possibility. I know it's not very plausible historically, but it works. Yesterday I did a short Career in the last stage of BoK, and when I finished the sim offered me the option to prolong in "Rheinland". I did, and it allowed me to join with my name and all my Soviet decorations. I choosed an US unit, and it gave me the equivalent rank (junior lieutenant -> flight officer), and even awarded me an "Air Medal" before I even flew my first mission!
