Throttle registers as button rather than axis (TCA Quadrant Airbus Edition)

I'm new to flight sims and I've been trying to setup my hotas. My Joystick maps fine, but my throttle does not register as an axis. Instead, each increment of the throttle is detected as an individual button. I've had no such problem in DCS and I'm not sure how to approach this issue.

It may help to state what controller you're using and whether you're running any proprietary software.

The throttle unit is the Thrustmaster TCA Quadrant Airbus Edition.

I'm running no other software aside from the device's drivers.

I've done some more experimenting because I was concerned if this was a hardware issue or a bug. The TCA Quadrant Airbus Edition appears to have throttle increments as optional buttons, on top of the throttle itself being an axis. This is pretty neat, but IL2 appears to pick up the buttons first before the actual throttle axis. I therefore cannot bind the throttle axis in the IL2 settings menu, but it should be possible through files. I haven't messed with IL2s files yet, but now's a good a time to learn as any. Either that, or I somehow stop IL2 picking up these buttons.

Got help with the solution, here is if for anyone else that needs it. Control panel > Hardware and Sound > Devices and Printers > Right click your device > Game controller settings > Click the device again > Properties > Uncheck 'Enable virtual buttons'.

@Ganduwulfyou forgot that windows driver does not have that option, we need to install airbus driver from Thrustmaster.

Following up on @Ganduwulf, a simple fix for @TCW_Brzi_Joe's comment - on Win11, search for 'game controller' in the search bar and click on 'set up USB game controllers'. After selecting the device (TCA Q-Eng 1&2), now click on properties and there should be a tick box on the right of the panel for virtual buttons.

I have the same problem with TQS Viper .. activated, deactivated the virtual buttons - didn't help. Any other ideas for a fix please? In other games (DCS, FS2020... ) everything works without a problem... ?

Thank you.
