COMBAT BOX VEGAS RETREAT 2022

It's official... The Combat Box community is three years old. Can you believe it? We started Combat Box back in April 2nd, 2019, and have been committed to making great experiences and developing an ongoing community of like-minded fliers. We started with a computer upgrade in the basement of @Alonzo's house. The computer was used for Minecraft of all things... Now-a-days, we have two dedicated machines running the website, the SRS clients, the SRS bot, and of course our two servers - the Dogfight Training server and the Main Combat Box server. 

Over the course of the three years, we have made some spectacular missions! I remember the first set of maps we had, one in particular was the D-Day invasion, and while it had many performance issues - it was the hallmark of greater things to come. Now we're hovering over 40 maps, each with their unique flavor! Crazy! Some of my favorites include Mitchel's Men, A Bridge too Far, and Operation Frantic. 

 

Are we done now? Not in the slightest! We have really big plans coming up... that we can't discuss and have been working on behind the scenes. We still have Friday Night Flights scheduled each week, where players fly a completely new mission! (If you haven't heard of Friday Night Flights, you're missing out! Come join us in the Combat Box Discord for more info on FnF!) And we have some other events in store this year too - racing, dogfights, team deathmatch, and more.
 

I want to thank everyone who is a part of this community, the admin team, and our Patreon supporters. Without you guys, there's no way we would be as successful as we are. Here's to another three years of great success!

 

So, how do we celebrate this amazing success? By going to Vegas of course!! Yes, I said it... Vegas baby! We're hosting a community retreat on Friday, August 12th, 2022 and Saturday, August 13th, 2022 in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Luxor Hotel. After three years, it's time to meet everyone's pretty faces in person. Come join me, and the community by drinking, socializing, gambling, hanging out, and just relaxing with like-minded nerds and their families. He sold that property a while ago I believe, but I used to live not far from it when I was in college and drove past it daily. Casa de Shenandoah. On the corner of Sunset and Pecos. Way back it was outside of town then the city grew up around it.

The lake Mead will be dry by then and Vegas turned back to its original state pre-1900. A desert of sand and rock, with the canyons and the untouched colorado river.

Who's to say that it won't go the route of Fallout: New Vegas? That sounds more fun.
