hello to all... anyone noticed any changes for the tanks or not? Personally, except for a game that seems to run a bit better (but it may be more of a driver update...)... personnally...

yes there is one change. slightly bigger fire, when the tank explodes. Thats all folks

Throwing a bone to the dogs I see. Well I haven't played in three months and it looks like I won't be playing it in the near future.I may try to sell the game. It's boring , not going to to get better and not worth keeping.

problem with the hud, some solved it by restarting the game, but personally, it didn't change anything... no compass, no gun direction, only ammo...

EDIT: yep, sorry people, I saw that after... a nice thing for immersion, it just needs to remove the ammunition counter and add oral orders to inform us of that (direction, remaining ammunition ...) and it will be great...

 

do some of you have an absence of sound in Pz IV in the gunner position, looking through the scope? I can only hear the sound of my main engine (and not the ventilation, or the plane/tank engines...) and the messages from the radio...

12. Instrument Panel difficulty setting functions correctly for detailed tanks: on Expert or Custom difficulty with the panel switched off only the ammo and damage overlay (invoked by Enter key) will be shown;

 

For German tanks, the driver has one located either to his left or right. (12 is north, 3 is east, 6 is south, 9 is west on the yellow band)

The Sherman has one between the driver and the radio operator.

 

For tanks of Soviet design I think there is none...only leaves the map, the sun and the time of day.

The tank platoon leader for the soviets would have had a hand compass to lead the way. The rest had only to follow. Also, to my best of my knowledge, most t34s didn't have radio communications either. Of course, I'm probably wrong.

 

The flip side on disallowing the "I key" might encourage more people to drive a single tank together. One to drive and navigate, one to command, one to gun. However, the tank community is small compared to flight community. Hopefully, the server side can turn the compass back on for multiplayer?

Correct, commander also would need to get off the tank and get away from the tank to get a accurate reading, then climb back onboard. Most T-34s beside commanders tank didnt have radio, until late 1942 and onwards then they started to become standard.

Perfect adon for TC MP, now if they can only ban soviets to use comunication exploits of TS3 discort and so on... and we can finaly have triving online comunity... ah well maybe next update will solve that problem.

Yeah man, the Ivan tankers on Finnish were already squawking about it.  Looks like we'll be seeing alot more Shermans!

another thing: it may be a stroke of luck, but it seems to me that the sherman is less "resistant", I killed 3 or 4 quite easily yesterday .. stroke of luck or modification of the DM?

 

and the only one with sound bug?

According to the Hotfix announcement of Sneaksie in the Update thread, the compas and the turret position should be back in HUD.

did you get the hotfix download? on steam, there is nothing... even by checking the files...

as of this writing compass is not back - maybe it is for Russians though.  Also, numerous tankers are complaining that the sounds associated with tanks - both exterior and interior have disappeared on the Finish server at least.

I wasn't listening for any, but when I was in the Sherman on Finnish, I did notice none of the engine startup or shut down sounds played.

this morning, on the same server in panther, I had the same problem, but the sounds reappeared at times depending on the orientation of the barrel...

 


to see how long it will take before a patch... bets are off!

I tried to make a video of it but on the playback the sounds all worked fine.  I will report it in the bug section.  PS it also appears to be present on the single p[layer missions.

I'm also noticing that plane sounds are no longer gradually getting louder when playing tanks. Instead of hearing the engine rise and fall as the plane gets closer and flies away. The engine sound just pops in when it's close enough, and pops out when it leaves the "bubble"

Mmmh, I just tried, and I still have problems to hear the engines of the planes at low level in the gunner position...
I am alone?

 

it seems much further away...

en fait l'image que j'ai montré c'était pour déconner, j'ai testé quelques missions et je n'ai pas constaté ce problème !  ça te le fait sur quelle mission du jeu ??

ce qui est sur c'est que les mises à jour et correctifs pour les avions ça y va... mais quand il est question de chars, rien...à la limite ils esquintent les chars pour améliorer les avions

 

in fact the picture i put was just for fun, i tested a few missions and i didn't notice this problem! which mission in the game does it make you do it?

what's for sure is that the updates and patches for the planes are going well... but when it comes to tanks, nothing... at the limit, they're dodging the tanks to improve the planes

je viens de faire le test.. effectivement il y a un problème... halala ce jeu... c'ets vraiment lamentable.. à chaque mise à jour pour améliorer les avions , les chars ont un peu plus de défauts..

je vais trouver une solution et t'envoyer la mission modifiée 

 

I just did the test... indeed there is a problem... my god.. this game... it's really lamentable... with each update to improve the planes, the tanks have a little more defects...

voici un dossier contenant la mission 02 modifiée pour la campagne Zitadelle2, il suffit de copier et coller l'ensemble des fichiers dans ton dossier ZItadelle2, ça va te demander si tu veux supprimer les anciens fichiers il faut cliquer sur "oui"    

 

here is a folder containing the modified mission 02 for the Zitadelle2 campaign, just copy and paste all the files in your ZItadelle2 folder, it will ask you if you want to delete the old files click on "yes" :

Haha that's a good one @TIGRE88! Maybe this is what Tiger tank commanders were taught to do when confronted by the Sherman's .50 Cal in order to protect the crew in the turret. As long as you can still use the commander's binocular view, I don't see how this could affect game play.

I know he had corrected it, and I had "seen" it, but it's last time, it seems to have reappeared for me... I don't know if it's related to a certain aircraft model ... other people?

It seems there are still many unresolved issues that have been brought up, over, and over.  Collisions,   way to bumpy when driving offroad,  and the commander not having the ability to dampen this somewhat when trying to use binoculars.   They have stick figure crew-members modeled,  that can't move  slightly apparently.

 

Here is another big issue that has bothered me for quite some time,  sounds in a tank ingame.

1)When you unbutton commander, shut off engine,  the compressor to move the gun is way too loud,  since you are above the tank outside.   Since they have the assinine gun lock modeled on PzIV, it blocks your vision fwd.  It shouldn't go to gun lock, unless I press a key to go to gun lock, very dumb ingame non "feature"

 

2)An approaching tank only becomes audible at @ 600m , with in game sound all the way up.  The bs voices should be user selectable to turn off, as well as chat notification sound. You can delete or rename the voice folder,  but you get a static sound when they go off,  and I would guess no other sound comes through.   not very effective for an advantageous ambush  it should be noticeable at over a km  maybe more, tanks are loud

 

3) I remember as a kid putting a seashell to my ear.  I do that in game now no matter how hard the wind is blowing or not at all.  Go in game, drive into trees, shut off engine and unbutton, turn up sound.  I did just that, map says wind/calm. This should not be something you are hearing under 10mp wind.   I also noticed, the trees swaying in this no wind scenario, why is that ?    That sound is annoying,  may or may not mask an approaching tank sound.  I doubt that as it's probably hard programmed in that you only hear an approaching tank at "X" meters,   an approaching plane at "X" m or km.   The sound does get louder  but you hear it way to late.

Strange, it never happens to me, I must press T to set it to lock or unluck gun, it dont do what you say when I tufn off engine or back on of when switching place in my tank or opening hatch. But I havent played for a week so cant say if things have changed since last update. Will test when I get the time.

I'm not sure how yours works  but my game I have to leave control of the gun by pressing T to shut down the hydraulic pump

There is another way/workaround we found out when playing the game without locking gun: have your gunner open his hatch so he looks outside of the tank, then the electrical engine will turn off after 30 seconds and the gun lock wont happen. 
There was a keybind for it too but I need to find it….
