Request for Regia Aeronautica 109 G-6

Hello all,

 

One of my all time favorite skins in the sim is the Italian Bf 109 G4.The unit it is from also used the 109 G6. I've long searched for and wished we had a Regia Aeronautica skin for the G6, so I figured I'd throw the idea out there in case anyone might have any interest in it.

My modest opinion is that reference profile is "oversaturated" with blue... i.e. that real "repaint mask areas" are far more greyish... rather than F.C. Napoli blue...

You're right about the blue, for me it doesn't look quite right.

After they switched to the allied side, did they fly any axis aircraft with the traditional green/white/red roundels? 

 

How about some skins in those colours?

The co-belligerent air force mostly used a mix of allied and domestic Italian aircraft. Indeed these Regia Aeronautica 109s are kind of rare because Italy only used them during the Sicily campaign, as their own air forces in Africa had been mostly wiped out. These were a sort of stop gap reinforcement for Italy to buy them time to make more of their own fighters. Then of course there's the Italian Social Republic air force which did use a lot of 109s, but that was a totally different paint scheme. 

 

Of course allied-Italian 109s could always be fun as a kind of what-if skin.
