beebee23 Posted December 29, 2021 Posted December 29, 2021 hello! how much disk space needed for install BON, map included ? thanks?
Halon Posted December 29, 2021 Posted December 29, 2021 Fair question but we won't know the answer till it's fully released I suspect? The map isn't available yet, I'm very much looking forward to it though.

From what I understand, the file size is the same and all things are updated. If you have purchased (have access to) any mods, then you can play them. If you haven't, then you cannot play them, but the file size is the same overall. So the same disk space will be required regardless. Sooooo.............. You might as well buy it. Someone please correct me if I am incorrect on this. Cheers.

When the Update 5.001 gets released everyone's game will download the complete update, no matter if BON was purchased or not. If you purchase BON after its official release, there is no download neccessary, just the activating of the content. 1
BMA_West Posted December 29, 2021 Posted December 29, 2021 Alittle over 60 GB here, without adding skins;
beebee23 Posted December 29, 2021 Author Posted December 29, 2021 thanks to all ! currently mine is Il2 Bodenplatte only (64,3GB) with some skins & missions, today i've 83 GB free space disk on my drive, i think it's enough to get BON?
Jade_Monkey Posted December 29, 2021 Posted December 29, 2021 BON size = Current size + Normandy Map + Assets for remaining planes + Whatever is released for FC2 + Tank Crew new tanks (probably will come after BON). Since it's all in the same install, regardless of what you own, the install size will continue to grow. I think you are safe for a while with 83GB remaining.

Since it all installs as one game, the install size is going to be what you already have + whatever BoN adds. Exactly what that will be is TBD, but you can be sure that the additional will be less than what you already have. Whether you have bought BoN or not, you have already downloaded every plane, every ground unit, every everything built and released for it. The purchase just adds a license that allows you to fly the planes. So, finger in the wind ... some more structures, the map, still some planes and ground units to go ... 20-30 GB ... maybe ... ?
beebee23 Posted December 30, 2021 Author Posted December 30, 2021 (edited) Thanks @PatrickAWlson, @Jade_Monkey great explanation, so i'll wait to get new ssd ? Edited December 30, 2021 by beebee23
PatrickAWlson Posted December 30, 2021 Posted December 30, 2021 The full product is not going to be out for another 6 months or so. Hopefully you have your new SSD by then. If not, go ahead and use what you have. You're probably fine. The content will continue to come out in a steady stream, so you're going to get it anyway.
Irishratticus72 Posted December 30, 2021 Posted December 30, 2021 I bought a new pc mainly for BON, and better VR performance, no lie.

I like gaming so I can't say that my new PC was just for GB, but GB definitely figured heavily. I play every other game with monitor, keyboard and mouse. For GB I have VR, throttle, stick, rudder, keyboard and mouse. I could have saved a couple of thousand sticking to WASD games, but then I would never have the experience (as close as I am going to get, anyway) of sitting in the cockpit of a WWII plane and flying it. I'm perfectly happy with the purchase. Relatively speaking (movies, shooting pool, other stuff that I do) it's really not that expensive on a per hour basis. 1 1
