Barnacles Posted December 19, 2021 Posted December 19, 2021 (edited) As far as I am aware 190A3 and 190A5 should have the same engine power and supercharger. The two aircraft seem to have different critical altitudes in game. For the 190 A3 the maximum speed in auto level at 7000m is 468 km/h IAS 658 km/h TAS For the 190 A5 the maximum speed in auto level at 7000m is 459 km/h IAS 648 km/h TAS This is with 0% outlet cowls. It is odd as the 190A5 should making a similar Manifold pressure as the A3? Edited December 19, 2021 by Barnacles 4
354thFG_Panda_ Posted January 15, 2022 Posted January 15, 2022 Bump Is there a difference in ram air flow or supercharger to make this happen?
the_emperor Posted January 16, 2022 Posted January 16, 2022 @Barnacles there should probably no big difference in FTH bar a small one due to the A-3 being a bit lighter an thus abit faster for a bit more ram. But 6300m is the regular FTH for the BMW 801D 2700rpm/1.42ata A-5/6 3

Spoiler parts of PM i send them 2.5 years ago about this bug on A3 compared A3 (blue) to A5 (red) after fix: https://imgur.com/aV0Vr5M Differance in ata shown in game betwen both airplanes on thouse altitudes:at 50-1000m all looks okat 1500m Fw-190A3 shows ~1.36ata while Fw-190A5 shows ~1.29ata at 100% throttle , at 2000m Fw-190A3 shows ~1.29ata while Fw-190A5 shows ~1.23ata at 100% throttle ,at 2500m Fw-190A3 shows ~1.26ata while Fw-190A5 shows ~1.21ata at 100% throttle , at 3000-6400 all looks ok, and at 6400m both airplanes show ~1.41ata at 100% throttle ,at 7000m Fw-190A3 shows ~1.41ata while Fw-190A5 shows ~1.26ata at 100% throttle , at 7500m Fw-190A3 shows ~1.31ata while Fw-190A5 shows ~1.19ata at 100% throttle , at 8000m Fw-190A3 shows ~1.28ata while Fw-190A5 shows ~1.13ata at 100% throttle , at 9000m Fw-190A3 shows ~1.14ata while Fw-190A5 shows ~1.01ata at 100% throttle ,at 10000m Fw-190A3 shows ~1.01ata while Fw-190A5 shows ~0.9ata at 100% throttle , compared A5 (blue) to A8 (red) after fix: https://imgur.com/Pejqay8 Fw-190A8 has same ata values as Fw-190A5 at and abow 6400m on emergancy power , only Fw-190A3 has higher values, and its strange as all 3 have same engine, so if values of ata would be same on all 3 190A airplanes when emergancy power is used at thouse altitudes Fw-190A3 would probably not have that big spike in top speed compared to Fw-190A5 as it has now. Barnacles Posted August 13, 2022 Author Posted August 13, 2022 (edited) Another weird effect, the A3 and A5 have almost identical supercharger performance at 7000m alt at 2400 rpm (max combat power) They both pull about 1.14 ata, but as soon as you increase the rpm to 2700 rpm, the A5 goes to 1.3 ata and the A3 goest to 1.4! Strange. Edited August 13, 2022 by Barnacles 1 2
354thFG_Panda_ Posted August 13, 2022 Posted August 13, 2022 @-DED-Rapidusis it meant to work like this? Perhaps different flow rates? 1
