HB's skins

S!,

I had a little bit of time on my hands today, so I thought I'd give the Su-122 a go. This skin is based on an unidentified unit during the battle of Kursk. This must be an early model of the Su-122(?). It's my understanding that only the early Soviet tanks received anytime of camouflage other than the Earth Green paint (I forget the Soviet paint numbers). There were a number of early T-34 & KV-1s that also had a similar camouflage scheme. I have several soviet tank books, so I'll try to provide more info in the future.

Anyhow, this is a start. I didn't have a clue where most of the parts were located, so I winged it.

PS, sorry for the poor quality resize. Apparently, MS decided the old photo editor wasn't good enough, so they made it more difficult to use by removing presets.....grrrr.

Also, I don't know if things have changed for the Su models, but I couldn't figure out how to unlock the gun. My other tanks will unlock the gun w/o issue.

Hi,

Sorry for stupid question, but is it possible to download all those amazing works of Yours?

Multiplayer could be so better to have such skins in game.

S!,

I use HSD for skin distribution. You can find it here:

I will say that there are a number of skinners better than me. I would look up Maillon21, SR603-Flowbee, and Tomi_099 for excellent skins. I don't believe these guys use HSD. You'll have to search by their names to find all the skins they have contributed to TC.

S!,

I was going through my list of tanks projects and I found one I started and finished a while back. It was suppose to be included in the Advanced and Secure Contest. Oh well, better late than never.

I used the same pattern with the pzIII, pzIV, PzVI & AA 1/2track. Now, the family is complete :)

S!,

I dusted off another skin that I had started but never finished, until now. The basic camouflage is similar to the Balaton PzIV I did a couple of years ago. After some extensive adjustments, I applied the skin to the Panther. I based this panther on Red 321 I./Pzr Reg 6, 3rd Pzr Div Kocs/Hungary late December, 1944.

Seeing the skin in the game, the camouflage blends well when using the forest as a background and grass maxed out. See pics 3 & 4.

I need to work on the barrel a bit, but it's pretty much ready to use. I'll upload it to HSD soon.

S!,

It's been awhile since I posted some new tanks. Although, TC seems to be dying a slow death, I still enjoy painting tanks and other vehicles. The following tanks are inspired by the giraffe print found on the panther of 5th SS Pzr Div Wiking Maciejewo, Poland 5/44. I named them as reserve tanks as I'm sure there were some Pz IIIs & IVs around the same time (maybe not the PzIII ? ). The other is inspired from a real tank, 8th SS Pzr Reg 2 Das Reich Karkov, USSR 3/43. The black and white photo is very poor, so I used official colors from the time and made my best guess.

Anyhow, I hope y'all enjoy the skins.

S!,

As many of y'all know, I dabble in other skins besides tanks. I created a whole set of plane skins for members of JV44. I just started working a new project for Flying Circus. I'm going to use JV44 colors to create an entire FC planeset using these colors. I started with the Albatros DVa. The page is located here:

Please let me know if there's anything with these planes that you see out of whack. I've got a little touching up to do on these planes but I'm pleased with them.

Hi Major,

I posted them to HSD. It's been more than 24 hours, so they should be up there by now.

I noticed you did a good job on the giraffe scheme for the PzVI & Ferdi. I might do the same to round out the collection. Honestly, I completely forgot about those AFVs :)

Yes, you inspired me to give it a shot. I've been debating if it would be worth doing them as a New AI vehicle collection as well.

I just checked and they're still not available.

Hey Major,

I doubled checked and all three of the SS skins are up on HSD. They're censored skins due to the SS prefix. Go into your options and make sure to check "Uncensored Restricted Symbols".  Once you do this, you might have to refresh HSD, but you'll find a lot of skins I've done in the past are censored, which will now become available to you. :)

S! all,

It's been more than 9 months since I painted anything in photoshop. My hands are doing better after having injury though physical therapy, so I thought I'd create a couple of simple Panthers based on some grainy photos and questionable references. Anyhow, as always, please leave any constructive comments. It amazes me how much I've forgotten about photoshop, but I'm hoping to create some more skins (tanks & planes) in the near future.

For your critiques, I present these attempts at painting once again.

the first is simply magnificent: it smells like a tank that lived, fought...
This is what is missing from the basic skin of the game (no longer really useful in terms of camouflage...)

S!,

I thought since Moustache like the beat up panther, I'd try the same technique with the Stug. Hopefully, the Stug will meet with approval or constructive comments :) The idea was to go very simple with rough paint strokes, chipped paint, scratches, etc. giving the illusion that this Stug has been in the field for a long time.

S! Gents,

I'm slowly making my way back and I hope to start playing tanks again. I know, the community is very small now, but I still think TC is the best tank sim going right now. I do like Gunner, Fire, PC, but it's for modern tanks and doesn't have multiplayer. Anyhow, I thought I'd share some quick skins, which I've already uploaded to HSD. It's a mixed bag using modified camouflage schemes from various old photos. The camouflage is more inspired than historic.

Constructive critiques are always appreciated.
