If you have a virpil device there is a cool little tool that pulls data real time from il2 enabling you to edit LED buttons based in states of the landing gear, or flaps.

I've played around with it and for the p38, I've figured out how to get the LEDs to flash at different intervals based on how far out the flaps are extended. If they go to combat flaps, a button flashes yellow-green. If they go past that it flashes red-green. Retracted all the way in it stays green. Same set up with landing gear, red flashing down, green is up.

Supposedly there is a way to tie it in to RPMs etc. but that's way outside my element. Would be nice if the developers could tell us what data is being read by this program so that we could figure out what these numbers in the link tool represent without having to guess.

Example profile for SPADXIII where I set LEDs to flash at certain RPMs.

Would love to know what the "arguments" are as that would make it a lot easier.

Any chance we could get developer assistance on this?

How in the world did you figure out anything with this?  I've got it downloaded and I'm screwing around with my CM3 throttle but I haven't the slightest clue what I'm doing.  Looked for a list of arguments for IL-2 but not finding anything.

Did you get the latest version?

Yup, 2.0.0.6

Running this in my IL-2 startup config since I also use simshaker.. Per the Virpil thread.

[KEY = telemetrydevice]
	addr = "127.0.0.1"
	addr1 = "127.0.0.1:29374"
	decimation = 2
	enable = true
	port = 29373
[END]

vpc_linktool.ini set to match

[Server_IL2_GBS]
IP=127.0.0.1
Port=29374

Closed up simshaker, removed addr1 line and changed ports for link tool to 29373 and tried again.  Still no data. =/

Just wanted to bump this one up to say what a cool tool it is. ?? I'm using it now in conjunction with the VPC Control Panel #2.

That said, it seems like some parameters are not available, like parking brakes and canopy position. Are those just not available right now?

Wow. Had been a long time without trying this software and using other methods to change led colours, but this is much better. Now I have to learn how to use it (don't know the arguments list for gear, fuel, flaps, etc.)

If I remember I'll post some screenshots of what I've been able to extract and use.

I read all the manual of the Virpil link tool and even the 51 pages of the virpil forum, but still haven't been able to figure out how to make appear the arguments list that I need to establish the rules. ?
Checked the start button, differents ports for telemetry and motion (i have the simshaker), correct route of the game... Don't know what I'm missing.

Okay, yes, I remember being frustrated by this as well. If I remember right, to get the arguments list to appear, you need to press the Test button and uncheck the Hide grid option. Once you do that, you should see a list of arguments in that right-hand column. This is the profile I use with it for IL2, so it's definitely doable. But yeah, it's a lot easier to program with MSFS. ?

I already unchecked the hide button and I think I tried the test button and dind't work, but I'll try again this afternoon. Thank you @LukeFF!

Now it worked. I had to slick start first and then test. That was probably my mistake. But are there only these 20 arguments?
