I’ve been off line for two weeks, so any new news about VR???

We've seen ~30 seconds of VR in a single cockpit thus far and holidays are just around the corner. Maybe a bit more in the new year. Patience is irrelevant  ?

That was HUGE, seing they are already playing in VR, not just a planned feature !!!!!! ?

Now until they anounce an Open Beta or the Release, nothing will be the same ...

IDK but perhaps counseling "patience" is a euphemism for messaging folks to stop checking in.

We are continuing to work on implementing VR in the game.

 

And most of the work is now complete... the reason we have not begun the STEAM Beta testing is that we are waiting for other elements in the Visual Update to be completed.

 

I.e. Speedtree, the 4k aircraft Externals, 4k Cockpits, Map improvements, etc.

 

We would like to test these at the same time as we test VR to confirm everything works as it should.

 

The Beta is coming... hopefully before the New Year.

till now, when there is no VR mode yet I have what to do in terms of Battle of Britain ?. Few days ago I recived 303 Sqd (strategy and combat tactics aviations) the board game (the old campaign from Kickstarter). Didnt play yet but looks awsome!

I‘m asking myself why this video hasn‘t been officially mentioned / posted. Got word of it yesterday evening and it isn‘t anywhere, just on their YT channel and marked as content for children…

 

I think it looks great and if you ask me, despite the bit of flicker around the load bar and the (imho) too big tooltips it looks very ready. Even TrueSky in the Menu. 
 

I couldn‘t help notice the missing 4k textures though. So probably a different build waiting to be merged. And the WIP QMB looks promising.

Same as you it popped up on my YT subscription list and yet it is not posted anywhere else by the team? 

I would think with the huge clamour for any mention of VR it would have been posted everywhere by the team..... yet nothing has been said other than silent release on YouTube?

This update does not include the 4k cockpit/externals, trueSKY or Speedtree work.

 

It was posted to show the only remaining major obstacle to VR has been solved.

 

We hope to start a Beta in the near future.

 

The WIP Quick Mission Builder is an option we hope to offer players as an intermediate Mission Building system... more complex than the existing Quick Mission Builder, but less complex than the Full Mission Builder.

I am glad to hear that TFS did not opt to leave menus 2D as some other sims chose to do. Blitz and Tobruk are in my steam library waiting for the day beta VR comes available.

Having seen your post yesterday regarding the current status of the VR (and presumably other elements) update, how does this statement above mesh with that? In Oct you were saying hopefully Beta before 2022, I do not sense the same hope in the November post. I know you don't have a crystal ball but what is a _realistic_ timeline? H2 2022? Q1 2023? And before you dismiss me as pessimistic, please remember the last time you did that.
