The Me 262's nosewheel is not free castoring. That makes it hard to turn at all. Probably the AI has problems because of that too, as I've seen it taxi somewhere outside of the taxiways into the dirtstrips where it seems to get completely stuck.

At first the NW is stuck, then it flips to one side and wants to stay there and you can't even taxi staight ahead with one brake fully applied.

For comparison it is very easy to taxi with the P-39 or P-38, but the Me 262 just doesn't want to turn.

I recorded a short video with my rudder pedals to show the input. And as I can taxi every tricycle without difficulties, it seems unlikely to be a control device problem. I can do this zigzag with the key commands on the keyboard, same result as with the rudder pedals.

I think this behaviour is there since release.

@iFoxRomeo, checked me262, couldn't repeat your problem. I note that the brakes become more effective for turning if they are not clamped from the start, but let the aircraft gain speed.

Thanks @-DED-Rapidus.

But please watch the replays in this post. And then try to taxy on the taxyway for yourself(use my mission-file). Start with a tight turn in the 262, and you will see that from then on the 262's nosewheel doesn't behave, like a nosewheel should. For comparison the P-38 is a piece of cake to taxy.

To be sure that there is no controller double binding I deleted all bindings for all controls in plane control and reassigned only left-, right-, nose-wheel brakes on the keyboard, no other controls and devices assigned.

Finally, I see the source of my frustration with taxi of the Me 262. Any solution?

The solution is as Rapidus wrote above: you need to let some speed build up before applying the brakes to make a turn.

Seems like this is a bug that needs fixing? Sometimes you're parked facing trees.

@rnickelson, I need to provide engineers with a reproduce of the bug if it is a bug. I checked that my me262 maneuvers in both directions the same way, you only need to gain the minimum speed to perform the maneuver.
