Another Pilots Notes for Cockpit Photos

Recommended Posts

This would be a really cool 'official' addition to the game. In the aircraft mods section a simple "enable cockpit notes" would be a really impressive feature to have.

Great mod, love it!

Can we simply combine the WWI aircraft from "Pilot's Notes 1.02" with this updated version to have all (most) planes? I'm going to try removing the mod (JGSME), then add all the WWI folders, then reapply.. should work.

Yes, it will work. Just apply at first the 1.02, then mine. It will overwrite WWII and keep WWI 1.02 files.

Anyone have the Mossie done yet? And while i'm begging, will also need the Sopwith Snipe! (assume the new Spitfire XIV bubble canopy has the same limits as the "normal" Spit XIV)..

Did you use IL-2 compare for the climb and rate turn values?

For either version?

I think I'm not using the technochat version so maybe that has updated climb and turn values?

I use IL-2 compare for the climb value. For turn value (not provided in IL-2 compare) I take the average speed (between altitude) given for turn rate in "official" stats (see https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/25993-aircraft-flight-and-technical-specifications-and-operational-details/)

The only difference between "technochat" and "official" version is the max value of RPM to keep nominal state in technochat. Sometime the official values are a bit under the value you can see in game, so I update them in the sheet. I found differences mostly for German plane.

Some people say that technochat is wrong
i.e. even if technochat is saying you are in safe green values you might actually be in red values

I don't know myself

Yes, but I forgot to add the C47, I'll have a look.I do not know if she has a picture...

Anyway, there is a template enclosed, so you can do it yourself and post it here.

C-47 does have an in-cockpit photo, in front of the co-pilot which I find can make smaller font sizes difficult to read

Thanks a lot for your mod, IMO one of the few safe and really useful. Just a question: I can't find inside Fw 190A-6 cockpit any instrument showing cylinder head temperature to compare with what indicated in your card (like the one for Fw 190A-5 illustrated above). Please, help!

Posted

Fw-190's don't have a cylinder head temperature gauge, only inlet oil temperature.  Seems strange that they have a max cylinder head temperature guideline but no way to monitor it, but that's realistic.  There's a past thread about this issue.  Cowl flaps open on the ground, half open in a climb, and closed in normal flight was the recommended procedure, plus monitor the inlet oil temperature.

I would like to bring to attention that the Pilot Notes are not displayed in the C-47.

I assume this has something to do with the pixel format of 1,033 x 1,434 instead of 1,024 x 1,024. Here are the two screenshots from the file and in the cockpit:

Appreciate this and even more now in the WW1 crates. Prefer some valid data over the photos.

Yes, and it really helps out new people. Answers a lot of "why is my engine blowing up for no reason" questions...
