Unexpected drop of an update today especially after is was going to be delayed.

 

Many thanks to all involved - can't wait to try the 1/2 track to see how it compares to an all wheel or all tracked vehicle.

Not sure what happened to my original post, I thought it went into the general discussion...  reposting my question, (hope it's not a duplicate).

 

curious, is there a command to re-initiate the recent update?  I neglected to remove all of my mods before installing the update.  I figured that is always a no-no.  So I'd like to see if I can do the download again, (with the mods removed).

edit - not sure why the mod's put my question into this particular thread.  My question would apply to any patch/update.  regardless, after a lengthy search, I found info regarding the "updates" sub-folder, and will dig further.   Sorry for this OT being pushed into this thread....

Hoped that the added fuel tanks for the 109s would have made it to this patch but I am happy for the improvements to the fighter-bombers missions for the career, the addition of fighter cover for those mission is something that was sorely missed up untill now

hello, I was told that this update fixes the bug of the AI in tanks and uncontrollable turrets, but the bug is still present ... a solution?

It is out in this patch, I'm pretty sure Luke meant that it didn't change between the beta version and release.

The new initial bomb blasts look pretty great, and I seem to have seen one case of a secondary cook-off as the ship sank.

вообще говоря, тут на неделе посмотрел, че пишут вот в этой теме на последней странице, и решил перенастроить Тайфун https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/66681-hawker-tempest-turning-performance/page/4/#comments если вкратце суть проблемы, то в РЛЭ указана неточная табличка поправок на показание датчика скорости, из-за чего реальные скорости сваливания значительно выше, чем указано там же. юзеры раскопали хорошие рефы и на поправку показаний датчика, и на максимальное значение Cy. у меня и раньше были подозрения на это, настраивал самолет на более низкий максимальный Cy, чем получается по расчету с цифрами из РЛЭ, но все равно вышло значительно больше того, что получалось с референсной полярой крыла, настроенной по продувкам профиля. в общем, вернул профилю референсную поляру, убрав домножение Cy на константу, перенастроил эффекты сжимаемости и винт, немного сдвинул центровку, получил практически те же самые графики Vy и Vx, балансировки и скорости крена, что и были, но при этом адекватные скорости сваливания. подогнал САС и ИИ под новые настройки, заканчиваю проверки и собираюсь это дело сдать сегодня-завтра вместе с поправленными цифрами в описаниях, если никто не возражает.

Also, check your Weapon 1,2,3 inputs before you jump into combat. Several of us online had a terrible silence when pulling the trigger today.

I got a problem with my triggers as well. Thought it was just in FC but I tried my Rata and if I hit my 'Weapon 1' fire nothing happens. If I have 'Weapon 2' (cannons) then all that fires is the cannons, NO MG's. NO MG's are working for me from my trigger binds!!

The German Sd.Kfz.10/5. half track seems so much more beefy as a weapon platform as opposed the Russian GAZ-MM. As much as I've enjoyed using that AA truck, it always felt like I was driving the Clampetts around. Not that I wouldn't have wanted to go down to the cement pond with Ellie Mae. But I digress. Still trying to learn the ballistics of the German gun. Haven't had much success so far.

 

The patch seems very stable. I want to make comment again how quickly the download for the patch was. While I didn't time it, download to fully installed was well less than 10 minutes for a very large patch. While it's apples to oranges, back in the day I remember waiting weeks to get a simple patch in the mail on a 3.5 floppy for Aces of the Pacific. We truly are spoiled with this team and sim whether we recognize it or not.

My fire controls were changed after I updated, worth checking yours

Hmmm... but how come the cannons fire when I hit 'All Guns' and not the MG's. Strange...

That is excellent news regarding the calibration corrections with the Typhoon. That might be applicable to the Tempest as well, so I dearly hope they have the time to look at that too. The Tempest would probably be my favourite plane were it not for the fact that it seems to have an excessively high coefficient of lift.

Is there a reason why my mapped switches don´t work anymore? Why am I zooming in and out instead of controlling my cowl flaps? Is this a joke I don´t get?

My controls for the outlet cowl flaps were also reverted to default apparently, plus I had to rebind the fire buttons too. Made up for a quite frustrating gaming night...? On two occasions I also lost all controls on my HOTAS in flight, had to exit the server to make them work again.

ok, after a lengthy dig.  seeing some stuff about the "updates" sub-folder, etc.   I'll review further.   Might be an idea to add into the FAQ?

UPDATE!! The controls work, but only AFTER starting the engine!! No MG's at all when engine isn't running, on any plane...

"Actually, last week I looked at this thread on the last page and decided to reconfigure the Typhoon https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/66681-hawker-tempest-turning-performance/page/4/#comments. To summarize the problem, in the flight manual there is an inaccurate correction table for the speed sensor reading, which makes the real stall speeds much higher than it's indicated there. I had my suspicions about this before, I adjusted the airplane to a lower maximum Cy than it was calculated with the figures from the flight manual, but it was still much higher than it was with the reference wing polar, adjusted by the profile blows. Anyway, I returned the profile to the reference polar by removing the Cy domination by a constant, readjusted the compressibility effects and the propeller, shifted the alignment a bit, got almost the same Vy and Vx graphs, balance and roll rates as before, but adequate stall speeds at the same time."
