How to get AI planes to attack player tanks in dogfight map?

Salute,

 

I am trying to build a mission where a couple of AI planes attack any player tanks in a certain area but am not succeeding and would welcome your advice.

 

I have built a player v AI mission for our squad. Its a dogfight map.

 

I have an attack zone which is set to ground targets and objected linked back to the AI planes, thinking that the planes should attack any units in that zone.

 

What happens is that although my plane waypoints go through the zone, they just fly about and do not attack my tank?

 

Is anyone able to advise how to achieve this please?

You need to trigger "IL2 AttackArea" with a target link from an MCU or a message link from an object.

made some changes but the planes still do not attack.

 

Is any one able to just give the logic of what it should like to what to get this to work please?

It works for me, although the AI isn't particularly fast to attack ground targets, especially if they're moving. The AI planes make sweeping turns to line up on you first. I was stationary when the AI finally dove on me.

Here's an AI IL2 destroying my player tank with a single 250kg bomb. Ouch!

Salute @Sketch and thanks for the diagram.

 

I had not set a target link from the waypoint to the attack zone.
