Also tested the latest Vive console beta in MSFS 2020 and it is smooth as glass, no artifacts or nothing. Why it does not work like that in IL2?? That is certainly interesting. I will have to check on my end here soon as well.
SCG_Redcloud111 Posted October 27, 2021 Author Posted October 27, 2021 @SCG_motoadve Hey, Moto, I tested with new console beta and I didn’t see any increased jerkiness. It seemed smooth to me. I am using FSR mod. I may be getting used to motion compensation …
SCG_Fenris_Wolf Posted October 28, 2021 Posted October 28, 2021 As I said, it artifacts heavily when switching between MC active (less than 90fps or 120fps) and MC deactivated (90fps or 120fps). You must not switch between them. It's still very useful in other games than IL-2 I'd recommend flying without MC at either 90Hz continuously or ramping up the quality a lot that you can maintain 70-75fps and use 120Hz slashed to half. 1
=STP=Darrylx444 Posted December 10, 2021 Posted December 10, 2021 @Jason_WilliamsAnother (very nice) game update cycle has just come and gone, yet this problem still persists after half a year. Clearly you have been quite busy doing great things, but I respectfully request at least some current information please: A) Do you finally have a Vive Pro 2 HMD on hand in Russia yet? If not, then when & where did you order it? And when is it due? Surely even local vendors must have them by now. B) What is wrong with just using the known rendered hFOV/vFOV aspect ratio retrieved from SteamVR data via Risa's tool to manually correct IL2's currently flawed ratio (for this HMD)? You have several willing customers/volunteers here to remotely test this, prior to full distribution. And, if this method works, it could also save you the future hassle, delay, and cost of buying every new HMD model that comes out. Perhaps even fine-tune the ratio for some older ones too. And your customers get correct VR compatibility much sooner. Potentially a win-win scenario that is worth examining. 2 1

SCG_Redcloud111 Posted December 15, 2021 Author Posted December 15, 2021 Thanks, developers, for getting to this. I never lost faith it would happen. Take care!
SCG_Fenris_Wolf Posted December 15, 2021 Posted December 15, 2021 That you guys are so super thankful now after 6 months of enduring this leaves me somewhat baffled. Well, at least it's finally somewhat fixed. Your ought to chase what had been mentioned, that the aspect ratio would feel a bit too tall now. Because if there should be a secondary adjustment, you may want to hurry up a bit while it's still fresh it may still be open for a review and hotfix.

Great to see you guys getting this - I guess due to my limited visual fov I never really notice it enough to be a bother.

Thanks! To clarify, the warping effect during head tilt and perpetual vertical compression happened equally across the entire FOV, so even having a physically limited visual FOV shouldn't have prevented noticing it, in theory. I'm very glad it's gone now after enduring it for 6 months, but if it didn't ever bother you personally in the first place then that's even better for you. I am curious though, did you notice any visual change at all after the patch?

Edit: To clarify though I thought you meant the hotfix, after the patch with the new clouds yes absolutely. Edited December 16, 2021 by dburne

But it's good if at least one didn't suffer from this. I'm waiting for the Aero now. 1
